At the beginning when the four Spitfires land after a sortie ,the only person there to greet them is one man in blue overalls ,who pokes around in a cockpit . In reality the planes would need refueling and re arming so they would be ready to take off again within 5mins. This would involve many men swarming around the planes as they stop! With a fuel bowser present and a least an Ambulance .We see no vehicles .We see one man ! Two men are later seen fiddling around with a tail rudder in the background! But NO refueling or re-arming! A short while later a Spitfire lands with a female pilot (with presumably a replacement aircraft) But it has exactly the same flight identification markings as the Spitfire the Skipper landed in a short time earlier ! Then they take off in a few minutes later without being re-armed or re-fueled ! And so it goes on !

Good acting ,good story line but farcical in some parts !! Seriously would a Glider be towed into enemy territory ,all the way from the UK only carrying 3 soldiers ? 5 if you include the pilot and co-pilot .With the rest of the glider empty - risking flak and anti aircraft fire? Only 5 people on a glider that could carry a minimum of 20 people and all their equipment? High Unlikely !! Second ridiculous happening - After the Glider crashes and they escape the wreckage, when walking around in enemy held Dutch territory one of the allied soldiers wears a bright yellow life jacket over his camouflaged jacket !!! L mean seriously !!? Especially when they knew German soldiers would be hunting them down !! 3rd Farce - One of the allied soldiers, a Dutch national throws in the towel and gives up soldiering because he's cold and wet and fed up - without a murmur from the other British soldiers !! ( when they would badly need a Dutch speaker and someone with reasonable local knowledge? ) As if this Dutch man - who believed in his country enough to escaped from occupied Netherlands (or travelled from one of the Dutch colonies) to the UK to join British forces to train hard as a paratrooper for years would give up in front of British troops after arriving in his home country only after a short time after years away from it ?

Was a reasonable film until the male character climbed out the plane to put a small piece of tape on leaking fuel line! All this right behind the prop and in a 150 knots slip stream! Then the lady climbed out to refuel the plane with rum from bottles while holding onto the wing with one hand! Forgettable this film!

Farcical the whole film !! The weather !!! The Battle of the Bulge took place in bad weather ,heavy cloud, heavy snow! The Germans planned in that way to prevent allied air strikes hindering their advance! Many, many scenes are filmed with a clear blue sky and bright sunshine!! The buildings ,water tower and architecture in the background are clearly North American NOT 1940s France/Belgium! The jeeps with the mounted cannons on them have not one person manning them ! Ln the whole film! (except at the end in the final attack!) Pretty unlikely in a war zone with Germans everywhere! The Captain who witnessed the Germans(dressed as fake American soldiers ) murder his fellow American soldiers ,says nothing, as a warning , to the first American soldier he meets! Then doesn't even mention it on this guy's radio when he finally makes contact with his own side!!!!! Then when he finally meets a group of Americans he knows ,he only mentions it eventually when he recognises his own jeep that the fake americans soldiers stole !! Ludicrous !! Many soldiers pass through the field of fire of other soldiers when the firing starts ! Many soldiers including the LT in the first scene walk around carrying no weapons! Ridiculous in a combat zone!! Many,many other mistakes!i.
