The Open House (2018)
Quite the tease
Acting was fine. Story was doing fine. Then when you finally think you're about to get an answer as to who the crazy killer is and what their motive was, the screen goes black. I'm actually...kinda pissed. I just watched a 1.5 hour movie for no reason because I never got to see who the killer was or what their reasoning was. We didn't even really have any hints given to us, so I was prepared for a real shocker. Don't waste your time.
The Princess Switch (2018)
Your Average Cheesy Christmas RomCom
Title says it all, really. It's cute, has the acting equivalent of "karaoke singers," makes you feel the warm fuzzies and Christmas spirit, and has a happy ending. It's just what you'd expect...nobody watches these things for Oscar-worthy experiences!
Christmas Inheritance (2017)
Does what's expected
Average made-for-tv holiday movie. Charming, cheesy, cliche, and the acting wasn't the worst ever. It gets the job done for what's expected of the genre.
A Christmas Prince (2017)
Cute & Typical
The movie does what's expected of this genre. It delivers a feel-good story with some holiday spirit and the acting could have been so much worse. It's a typical, cute & cheesy holiday romcom.
Christmas Wedding Planner (2017)
Actress schmactress
The lead actress was bad enough to make the whole movie bad, regardless of every other element, although the other elements weren't much to ruin anyways. Every time she bumped into someone or had to be surprised/startled, she did the most annoying, terribly acted "oh!" with a dumb physical gesture. This happened several times and I cannot explain how cringy it was to me. Wouldn't recommend or watch again.
