I gave up ...
3 November 2022
The cinematographic feel and cgi quality of this series is enormous. The amount of money wasted as well. I just can't relate to most characters because the scripting is plain awful. Galadriel acts like a teenager but she's a millennia old elf that, instead of embracing peace, seeks continuous confrontation and war. The female empowerment is just ridiculous, always depicting man as weak and stupid. This is done over and over and over. I don't understand the point artistic wise. Then the Hobbits and the mage storyline is boring. The elf storyline is ok but confusing at times.

I only know I stopped watching the series all together. This is a wasted opportunity. Sorry. Not worth my time.

The Book of Boba Fett (2021–2022)

It's a good show. Worth watching.

It has some flaws, probably not the best for die hard SW fans but it's a decent show worth watching. I do understand it diverges from the Boba we know in the SW episodes/movies but this show has something magical about it. The rebirth and the associated catharsis of Boba could be every bad guy salvation story. This is no different. People can change, become better persons and transform their and others lives in a positive way. Oh ! And the music is just awesome. That and the illustrations in the end of each episode. Cant' wait for season two :) !

It gets boring and boring and boring ...

I watched the original series back in the day when I was a kid and I just loved every moment.

Had high expectations for this one. First season first episodes where actually good and entertaining. Then it became almost like a soap opera, where family relationships and family drama take over the whole show. Yes I get it ! They need to behave like a family, because that's what they are but the whole notion is ever present in everything they do and accomplish. It's not just the script.

Last season one episode was finally a good one. Then second season began and lo and behold, more soap opera and more family time ! Hurray !!! Nope ... it's just more of the same in different situations. A related aspect is the way the characters evolve. It's just too much stereotyping for me ... that much that things start to become predictable. No surprises, no inteligent twists. All it matters is that we are a family. No matter how imperfect and human we are. The same soap opera ...

Then, Smith ... the actress. I mean. I can't even describe how bad she is. Even the Robinson kid is a better actor.

The pros. Excellent cgi and camera work. Production wise is really good.

Saw the first 3 episodes on season 2. And that was it. Got tired of the old same. But if you like soap operas and predictable scripts, this one must be for you !

Banal and uninteresting ....

This what the narrative and overall writing has become. It hurts to watch such strong characters being thorn apart to justify the writers options. The production quality and the good acting are still there, but not the rest ...

Game of Thrones: The Bells (2019)

Too much eye candy and too many bad options
14 May 2019
I've been watching since the beginning of the show. Did you make any sense of what happened in this episode ? Yes ?! Then please, tell me because I simply don't understand what's going on...

It's a fantastic display of cgi, with all the bells and whistles but the actual writers destroyed what was built by R. R. Martin. All established plots were thrown out of the window since the beginning of this season. The characters can go to the screen but they are good as dead already and that's not because they will be killed. It's because their soul has been destroyed and the show turned in to some mexican soap opera, with love and romance and ... "Slap" !!!! Wake up ! This is not GoT !!!

One more filler ...
24 April 2019
Well, it looks like a third of this season are fillers. If you feel the first episode adds nothing, then this second episode adds even more nothing and leaves the same exact void. It's a sign of a script without a strong narrative and options made outside RR Martins work, which sadly still doesn't exist because it hasn't been written already and it shows ... I mean, Arya and the other guy (what is his name? ...) was clearly something fans asked, producers followed and, bad decisions like this one, they kill the series. It was unnecessary and - having in mind we have always known Arya as a child - very weird (not to say worst words). Sad, very sad ... Please, leave such things for real writers, not soap opera weekend writers.

It's a reunion episode before the battle, which is what I thought about the first episode as well. If you ever go into a rerun, you'll surely skip this two first episodes. GoT is falling quickly into the mainstream and it's becoming "ugly". Let's hope now they won't switch to kings landing for the next couple of episodes and the battle only lasts the final episode. All in all, they really need to end the show before fans, writer and producers destroy it.

Battlestar Galactica (2004–2009)

You decide

I was immediately hooked after the pilot, it was that simple. I am a scifi fanatic but, as I grew up, I started demanding more complex movies and series beyond that flimsy scifi rhetoric and technobabble. BSG has it all and keeps it for 4 seasons. In fact, I'm yet to see something even close to BSG quality on TV.

People will try to find weaknesses and point out plot holes. They usually end up begging questions again and again or giving opinions about how it should have been made. Come on... that's laughable to say the least. It's all fallacious talk.

But please, I dare you, watch the pilot and tell me you had the guts to not keep watching the show.

First half it's ok. Second half is bad.
23 September 2018
While they are on the island the action is ok but when the main plot is revealed things start making no sense. I'm mean, story wise this is a bust. Then the same cliches scenes, you've seen over and over, taken form the former films are given to you like a turd with a yellow ribbon inside a pretty box...

Some, if not many, will fall for this small things. Like the nostalgia hints and blah blah ... it is not a good movie. In fact, me and my girl were about to sleep if one or other cliche scene wasn't delivered to us. All of them were funny, in a bad sense, even the killings. Funny as hell ... not.

Acting was kind of ok ... but man ... I don't know about you but Bryce Dallas Howard acting seems so dang artificial. I mean, the expressions, the looks, all of it. I don't know if she wasn't comfortable wait her role but it wasn't good at all. Chris Pratt was ... well, a dull Chris Pratt.

All in all it's not a good movie. You can get a laugh or two by reading the 10/10 opinions down bellow. That is, if you laugh about silly and ridiculous arguments lol but I guess everyone is entitled to an opinion. Even if it is a stupid one.
