Good acting and a captivating story line if you don't like the "Catholics bad" backdrop of basically the entire movie. So watch with that caveat.

The Predator

This was actually a pretty good Predator movie!

Before I saw the movie I read some of the reviews here. I can't believe so many people are SO critical (the 1-3 star votes, for example). This was NOT a bad movie.
I've seen all the other Predator (and AVP) movies and I'm thinking this one is as good as Predator 2, if not better. Of course, you can't improve on the iconic first Predator movie (with Arnold, no less). But as sequels go, this one did just fine IMHO.
In this movie, the action and special effects are just fine. The story line--with trained military guys going after Predators, rather than the reverse--and the secret government program idea is a great addition to the development of the Predator story.
I especially liked the Asperger's evolutionary angle and the expanding on the big Predator/small Predator concept introduced in the off-world Predators movie. And the final scene, clearly allowing for a sequel to this sequel, was a great telegraphing of where we can go with this franchise.
My advice--see the movie. Don't let the negative reviews deter you.
