Men (2022)
Loved it...you might too.
Go and see this film if you enjoy the macabre, and don't need to be spoon-fed. There's a lot to praise here: performances; characters; score; tension; cinematography; humour; imagination; subtext. Many of the scenes will stay with you for years to come...You'll have to decide what really happened though...
Mainstream horror, this is not. It's mental!
(My interpretation of the writer's message is, of course, that all women are crazy. 🤣)
Two very different, yet enjoyable films this week. Men, and Top Gun: Maverick. See both!
Armageddon (1998)
It's a comedy. Right?
The funniest film about the end of the world...These guys are quite aware of how cheesy it is. (Get a sense of humour, people.) The direction is accomplished, with some great lens choices and lighting...And then there's Bruce and the gang... I'd forgotten how good he is at this hero stuff. And of course one of the greatest rock bands in history, Aerosmith, features in a fine soundtrack. Watch it (again) and enjoy the ride.
Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020)
Be excellent to each other!
Really enjoyed this. I went into the theatre concerned that the film would be too PC, but soon realised there was nothing to worry about. The first two films were excellently silly, and so is this. And if you're one of those fellas moaning about there being too many female characters....the whole point of the trilogy is that we should "be excellent to each other!" ....Bill and Ted - those are your daughters, dudes! Hahaha.
La migliore offerta (2013)
Great film, bad title. (Deception)
I really enjoyed this film, as it seems many did, but why go to all that trouble of making it, (a not uncomplicated project) and then come up with the title Deception? (Although this intrigued me at first, it also gave the game away)
Greed (2019)
Funny and poignant
I laughed out loud several times, as did many in the audience. It's a very British film, with a great cast. Lots to enjoy here...if you get it. Give it a chance!
Top Gear: Episode #27.1 (2019)
Good Chemistry, finally!
Genuinely funny and entertaining. Flintoff was a great choice. And the show included my first car! Guess which one...
The Grand Tour: The Mongolia Special-Survival of the Fattest (2019)
Great episode
Thanks fellas. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Especially with a bottle of Argentinean Malbec.
The Grand Tour: Well Aged Scotch (2019)
That's more like it!
Now. This was a great episode. It had all the classic ingredients that used to make Top Gear so entertaining. Chemistry, humour, amazing scenery. And quirky cars. More like this please fellas.
