Emotional memory of an unforgettable World Cup
22 December 2023
For those of us who enjoy, suffer and celebrate with the Argentine futbol team, this documentary narrated by Guillermo Francella is a reason to re-experience all those feelings again.

A compilation of images of fans who filmed their own experiences as YouTubers, along with those who remember the main moments of each match, with good dramatization and timing, focused mainly on Messi's great participation.

The narration excites and does not distract at all.

The wonderful story by Hernán Casciari "Messi's Suitcase" brought to the screen by the direction of Jesús Braceras in a correct and effective way.

100% Popcorn Movie
21 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It's like this... a new Popcorn Movie to entertain for a while without thinking too much and nothing more.

Discreet performances beginning with Mark Wahlberg as a former government assassin who for many years completely hides his true past from his wife (Michelle Monaghan) and his two children who never suspected anything...even when the things get very complicated.

Motorcycles that crash into the family van, shots in the mirror, curves that should eject them from the car or at least rip their heads off their bodies... nothing wakes up the beautiful sleepers while the father of the family tries to outrun all those who are chasing them to kill them.

Without having any demands, it can be a entertainment... even fun.

Bloody, bizarre and funny!
1 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It all begins with a group of municipal workers who meet in a hotel in a remote and isolated area to foster team spirit and settle issues about the construction of a shopping center, where corruption, personal interests and solidarity will surface before the appearance of an imaginative and bestial murderer.

An unusual film coming from Sweden, but with an interesting mix of black humor, gore, horror and some suspense.

You can't ask for much from a mix like this, however despite a somewhat slow start, the second half has no waste... nor lack of excess and blood.

I can't talk about the performances either because the script itself and the plot don't allow it to stand out.

An attractive cake without completely cooking
21 November 2023
A really strange movie.

With an attractive and promising plot, it ends up becoming a series of scenes and stories that don't quite come together... like a cake with a great presentation but that was taken out of the oven without finishing cooking.

Good performances that are not enough to finish expressing a good intention that did not convince me at all.

The character of Christoph Waltz is interesting and interpreted as he usually does with all his talent and expressiveness.

I also really liked Sam Neill's impersonation, really delicious.

It's a shame that a proposal like this has not come to fruition.

Bad, boring and disappointing...
11 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Really a failure, long, slow, without real emotions, without something that encourages reaching the end.

The OFF story is boring to the point of exhaustion and the music of The Smiths, except in specific moments, contributes practically nothing.

In addition to almost ridiculous scenes such as entering the cabin of a dangerous stranger and being ambushed as a beginner and in the same scene doping the killer dog, showing him snoring deeply and minutes later chasing him as if nothing had happened.

Not to mention the scene of the botched murder where the emphasis is placed on not improvising and sticking to the plan and when he fired only one shot he killed the lover of the failed victim.

One more of lawyers and lawsuits... but good
17 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
There are many movies about lawsuits and trials.

There are many that are based on real events, many of them in cases of victims of unscrupulous corporations that even threatened people's health and lives.

There are other trials that are fictitious and are only based on imaginary characters.

But in this film we find the case of a small family businessman who, faced with economic problems, tries to solve them by turning to a powerful millionaire with excessive ambition who tries to monopolize an area as sensitive as funeral homes and their insurance.

A true story where a black lawyer who is only interested in million-dollar cases and never white cases, accepts the challenge of starting a lawsuit that, at first, seems like a lost cause.

Very good performance by Foxx (as always) in a role that required a sometimes even exaggerated impersonation.
