Inspiration film making.
8 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I loved this film and would happily watch it again. The screenplay is original and bares Elton's downfall in such a poignant way. We get a glimpse into the intimacy of his domestic situation. We witness the harm that having distant parents can do to a child's self esteem. The fact that he is alive today is a miracle and thank goodness for rehab. The scene when he talks to his younger self had me in tears. The disregard in which his management hold him is depicted as, after a suicide attempt, they simply fix him up and get him back on stage as quickly as possible. It made me sad for artists such as Amy Winehouse - have we learned nothing?

How to fool a woman.
6 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Peter Rabbit is a wonderful, warm and funny film. I'm sat here watching it with my daughter for the third time. However, I am also having to explain to her how manipulative the young Mr. Macgregor is. He is truly an awful character. He pretends to be something he is clearly not just to get together with the woman. They are clearly not a good match and it feels uncomfortable to witness her being fooled like that. But it is a shame as the rest of it is great!

A portrayal of women's strength
15 May 2019
When I see people calling Debbie 'dumb' I worry. What these women have been through is tragic. Yet, they survived. He was the weak one. How can a woman tell? He was charming and appeared to love her. If you have an open, honest heart then why would she suspect? This is a brilliantly acted series that allows the women's stories to be center stage. I was gripped, horrified and impressed that this story has been told.

Just watched this film with my two children who are 9 and 7. We enjoyed it a lot. It is beautifully shot and carefully filmed. The film also carries a powerful message that will resonate for children for care for our world.
