A chronicle of the great beer awakening in OZ
20 March 2021
I always get deep chuckle from condescending beer "lay-experts" who lose their chit over minuscule details in the narratives but, as both a certified beer judge, beer writer and home brewer, I found re-watching this series some 20 years later to be a nostalgic insight into the early years of craft beer culture in Australia. It was gratifying to see larger brewers using traditional gristed malt in process in an er when liquid malt-extract fast brew was the industry standard . I found myself sinking into a warm sentimentality binge watching this early era of brew culture renaissance...if you are beer nerd like me, you will to.

more of a cult classic than a B western
9 June 2018
This movie is replete with all the tawdry western cliches both verbal and visual but there is a nice spicing of 50s schlock in here like the odd shot that gets telephone poles in it or planes...or te odd extras with a timex watch...but the most glaring gaffe of all is the hero sporting a slick telescopic sighted Remington high power bolt action hunting rifle (a gun which was not made until 1949) in the setting of the old 1880s west...campy in a new way. If ou like cult flicks filled with continuity errors and chronological anomalies this one will keep you entertained
