This movie was so bad. It was really painful to sit through 70 minutes, I was hoping my kid would find it scary and would want to leave, but unfortunately we were not that lucky.
First of all, we like the books. I can enjoy reading alongside my kid, the art-style is charming and the humor is simpel but never annoying. The movie on the other hand was annoying from start to finish. It s incredibly fast cut, loud, has not even the slightest hint of a story arc and absolutely no clever jokes whatsoever. It s just 70 min of flashy images, farts, piss and (child-friendly?) violence. Next time I ll just put on a youtube reel of people farting and faceplanting and save myself the money for movie tickets.
I know it is supposed to be entertaining for small kids, but compared to other popular content for smaller kids (which is not necessarily entertaining for adults) like paw patrol, lego movies, fantorangen, frozen etc. This is in a league of its own in the most negative sense. Kids (and their parents) deserve better than this.
