Barry (2018)
The best Dramedy that's ever been.
This show is unbelievably good! I have only ever seen Bill Hader in comedic roles, so this is my first time ever seeing him do something serious. He does an incredible job. By the time you reach seasons 3 and 4, you will really see the depth of Bill Hader's acting capabilities. Everyone in the cast does an amazing job. The show is the perfect balance of serious and funny. It can feel disappointing at times knowing that an episode will only last you 35min, but each ever episode does not disappoint! They really know how to advance the plot with that short window of time! This is such a great show and I'm sad to hear that season 4 will be the last. With that though, I'm very excited to see how it all concludes!
Andor (2022)
Unbelievably good star wars show
I love this show! A lot of people say it's slow, but to me it's all just building up. The character development is fantastic! When I watch this show it gives soooo much context as to why the Empire is so hated! This is the story of the background behind the rebellion and what sparked the flame! This show sheds so much light on the evil that is the Empire. The stories behind the characters are incredible and very well told! I'm really enjoying this show and my hope is that more people will recognize its greatness. I'm so excited to see the story that's told in season 2! Who knows, maybe Disney will even make another movie with Andor? One can never know!
Prisoners (2013)
Completely Underrated.
This is by far my favorite Hugh Jackman movie and favorite Jake G. Movie! They both did such an incredible job. I will hold onto the belief that Hugh deserves an Oscar for this performance! The movie keeps you on the edge of your seat! Every actor brings so much to the table in order for the film to play out as well as it did! I absolutely love this movie. I think my respect for it grows each time I see it. I really enjoy watching the character development throughout the whole movie. Hugh was very much a believable dad and Jake played the part well of a mysterious cop (with awesome tattoos) that we don't know much about. The only thing we know about Jake's character is that he spends holidays alone, cracks every case he's on, and spends every minute of his days doing his job. To everyone who played a part in putting this movie together, I say "well done".
Quantum of Solace (2008)
Exciting story, but poorly executed action.
I really enjoyed the thrill of this storyline. Especially now that all the Daniel Craig movies are out. Looking back, this makes the story more exciting. It's cool to see how all of this leads to Spectre and then No Time To Die. BUT, the action sequences in this film are just so poorly done. Wherever there was action, you can barely make out whatever is happening. This really frustrated me. Other than that, this is a decent installment in the franchise. I do agree with other reviews though that this is the bottom of the list in the franchise. Thankfully the other 4 movies carry so much more weight than this one.
Barry: Chapter Seven: Loud, Fast, and Keep Going (2018)
Unbelievably good television.
This episode will keep you on the edge of your seat! It was written perfectly and Bill Hader executed it so well! You see a new side to Barry we haven't seen yet and Bill's acting puts you in these tense moments with Barry! Great episode!
Soul (2020)
Really great movie, only one aspect I could have done without
I really enjoyed the message for people to enjoy living their lives regardless of whatever their passions may be or whether they accomplish all of their dreams or not. In the end for Joe, it did not matter that he didn't accomplish his dreams to the fullest, what mattered was the life he's lived.
The one aspect I could have done without was all of the new age beliefs. Chakras and stepping outside the body into another dimension was sort of too mystical for me. But, this aspect aside I did really enjoy the movie.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Duel of the Droids (2008)
Underrated Episode. Very well done.
This episode will have you on the edge of your seat! It was well done and had an unexpected twist at the end.
6 Underground (2019)
Really good, but a few changes would not hurt
Michael Bay did make a great movie I think. It's unique in it's action and in the violence, but I think sometimes Michael Bay movies will have a little too much going on at once. Towards the end of the movie he should have slowed it down a bit more so you could appreciate everything that was going on. Other than this critique I did enjoy this movie.
Us (2019)
Not a Horror, an amazing Thriller
Just saw this movie last night and I honestly loved it. At first I felt like it would be a horror movie, but you learn quickly that its not meant to scary. If anything, the movie is a Psychological Horror movie. It really messes with your head. I loved this movie because I went into the theater, not once comparing it to "Get Out", but rather looking at it as its own independent movie. I can't change people's opinion of the movie, but I think its very clear that this film and "Get Out" have no connection at all, and therefore the movies should not be compared. This is a stand alone film and it should only be seen as such. Great movie. Unique story. Unique and realistic characters. Great ending.
