A Darker toned Magical Girl anime
I think we all know about Madoka Magica and its dark tone it took after episode 3, but here's an even darker Magical Girl anime, Magical Girl Site. A girl named Aya Asagiri gets bullied in school and tormented by her brother at home gets a strange link on her computer that shows a woman that gives her Magical powers. She finds a magical item in her locker at school that looks like a gun that can teleport people away, she used it on 2 bullies that end up killed by a train. Later she finds out from one of her classmates that she became a Magical Girl. She isn't the only one who is a Magical Girl however, for there are others that also suffered bad situations in their lives that got a magical item, but there are more to these items than blessings it seems. If you enjoyed the different takes of Magical Girl animes with Madoka and want to see an even darker twist, check this out, however what the anime shows isn't the whole story, so it's worth to check out the manga as well.
Have You Seen My Son (1996)
Not a bad film for a made for TV movie.
So I seen this on Light TV today, and to me this isn't a film that you'd expect to see on a positive geared channel. But there isn't anything you would see on those Lifetime movies, just a few gun points and shots but no one gets murdered or anything. The story is about a mother who is looking for her kid who is sick with asthma, that got kidnapped by her ex husband. She boldly goes to cross the border to Mexico in order to find out where he has been and to get her son back. Some of the people wouldn't bother to help her, but some of the locals in Mexico were friendly to her. After a wrong turn almost got her in distraught (finding a cross with her son's name on it, this part got me almost crying actually, that would be messed up to have this happen on a positive geared channel), she almost was going to shoot her ex and his wife, until she found out her son was safe in the car. She made it with her son and her friend managed to pick them up at the border towards home. So it was a pretty good movie, usually I don't watch things like this, but like I said, this was not one of those crazy Lifetime films and the story really geared me in. The woman done everything, even at risk for her son, and it paid off well for her at the end.
An Ling Yu Shi Di Qi (2017)
Even the Stitch! anime was better than this.
Now everyone conplained about the Stitch! Anime that took place in Japan, that featured Yuna. How much of the original Lilo and Stitch series they changed (like Gantu and Reuben working for Hamsterviel again). They complained moreso of that infamous Lilo episode, and her reason of forgetting about meeting Stitch. Well, the Chinese series, Stitch and Ai, is much worse. It basically rebooted everything of Lilo and Stitch, with Jumba and Pleakly working for the Galactic Federation for the first 3 episodes trying to take back Stitch like the first movie. Gantu and Hamsterviel don't show up, nor do Stitch's cousins. Instead of Jumba making experiments that would be Stitch's cousins, he makes mythical Chinese beasts instead.. which can be kinda good if this was a Disney Junior series like the Lion Guard that teaches while having a story at the same time, but this isn't the case. The animation doesn't even look as good as the series and the movies before it. Sure the Stitch! Anime had its faults, but it wasn't as bad as this. 3/10.
