Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
The revenge of "red shirts"
Story of a crew of "red shirts" dealing with some emotional issues, being interrupted by battle scenes stuffed with special effects.
Defines all except for Captain Pike and Number One
Idiocracy (2006)
a documentary that should win all the movie awards!
This movie was supposed to be a comedy about a far future in XXVI Century. From the perspective of 2019, it is a documentary of contemporary society proving that the biggest damage has already been done.
Newness (2017)
A very real overview of relationships in a generation of smart phones kids
A fascinating overview of the current generation and the way young people see relationships. On one hand it is terrifying to see how people choose their partners and try to build a stable relationship on a boggy ground with not trust and no responsibility. On the other hand you see very young people who are willing to stay together and fight for their love, even if they do not understand what this really means. Both characters seem to be paling in a maze of emotions, but with the time they grow up and become more mature through their experiences. Laia Costa is absolutely incredible in a role of being someone between a little girl and a grown up woman.
Worst Wedding DJ Ever (2010)
straight to the point - hilarious
It takes an incredible sense of humour for a couple to make a movie like that. Fabulous!
Got to watch it, but keep some distance.
Tomcats (2001)
Funny in 2004 even funnier in 2018
It is a movie I would recommend to watch on a Saturday evening with your old friends or for a girls evening. It is one of the movies where you can see all the teenage stars of the nineties era. This is a specific sense of humour ... kind of you can like when you're a teenager or in your early twenties....
I watched it in 2004 for the first time, and remember laughing so hard I almost cried.
A story is quite simple. You can predict how it ends, the moment the main character Michael, played by Jerry O'Connell meets the girl Natalie(Shannon Elizabeth) that he was looking for but in the middle the story get twisted and you enjoy it till the very end , I mean it even the closing credits are worth watching!
So I watched the movie 14 years later, seeing all the actors so young and funny... The characters they've created may appear a little shallow, but still funny and quite up to date as well as the jokes
( although some of them may feel a little embarrassing!). It is very amusing and you are definitely going to have a lot of fun, so yes 10 points from me.
Body Shots (1999)
Great movie. Real characters, it makes you thinking and analyzing it long after the story ends. Great soundtrack.
A surprisingly good movie with quite controversial story. I like the characters, and I think all actors were casted perfectly. They were real. I mean you can meet people like that among young professionals, single, who like to have fun, but get no responsibility. By watching them I could exactly recall meeting someone like that more than once.
Especially the duo of Tara Reid and Jerry O'Connell. She was great as an emotionally unstable aspiring actress, who get the chance to get some money by accusing a guy of rape. Then O'Connell, a "classic jerk" - young rich businessman with no respect for women at all. Each one of them tells his / her own version of the story . They are both very convincing -At least they convinced me - but at the end of the movie, the spectator realize, that the truth is somewhere in the middle, meaning none of them says the whole truth.
I think the brilliant part was to get their friends - played by Sean Patrick Flanery and Amanda Peet, lawyers - to defend both of them in court, which places them in an awkward situation and has an impact on their own relation.
Well played, good story line. In spite of other opinions, I think this movie is very real. It show a kind of visit card of the young generation in late nineties.
