The Great (2020–2023)

Started off great

So many other reviews have said how I felt, the show vulgar and dimwitted. I kept hoping for some story line but there was none. There are no redeeming characters except Grigor. The aunt is just downright sleezy and creepy. She keeps going on about all the sex she had and its hard to figure out why, she's not pretty. Katherine doesn't seem to care where her son went for days, odd for a mother.

Both Katherine and Peter talk in a chopped up fast talking tone that funny at first, becomes dull and irritating at the end. As mentioned, black actors in key roles in the monarchy are just distracting and pointless. Season one was okay but season two and three were just depressing and left me wanting to watch come quality TV. The last seen where Katherine is dancing to AC/DC is just mind numbing. Are we supposed to see that Fanning can improvise? My guess is they ran out of material and needed filler. Please don't make season 4!

Yellowstone (2018– )

Old story line and cliches

Hmm. It seems like the whole story was taken from, Dallas, Knots Landing, Days of Our Lives and any other soap opera. The Dutton family has absolutely no redeeming qualities. The daughter Beth acts and looks like a hopped up meth addict. The son Kayce kills people with no recourse or jail time. He's a livestock agent? Thats laughable that he would have that much jurisdiction. Beth bullies and threatens to kill people, like she could actually kill anyone. The Indians are noble warriors dressed in business suits and smarter than anyone else. The native Indian woman is actually Chinese. C"mon, you couldn't find one native American to play the role? And, then its on and on about Kevin Costner and how he owns the land and how he will protect it. There are cliche after cliche spoken ad nauseam. Beth is some woman whom men can't resist? She looks like a used woman. Thankfully this show is ending because Kevin Costner got pissed over control and pay.

Serendipity (2001)

Two people who only care about themselves

I like John Cusack but this movie is a stinker. The movie revolves around two people who can't get over a one day encounter that happened years ago. They both meet, fall in love and get engaged to other people. Then, they both dump their caring fiance's because fate is supposedly bringing them back together. Kate Beckensile's character at least has somewhat of a reason for splitting up with her fiance. But, there is no reason John Cusack dumps his loving caring partner and the movie can't even come up with a plot line to cover it. We don't see John confront his fiance and even give her a reason for the split, we just see the wedding is off. If he's this shallow, god help him with his new found soul mate. Cusack and Beckensile don't really mess in this one.

Wanted to like it.

I couldn't last 5 minutes. Just rude, crude and not funny. I wish it was better. I was looking forward to some Hoff humor.

Iron Sky (2012)

If you can't get subtle humor, you won't get this movie

There are a bunch of 1 star reviews of people who just aren't smart enough to get subtle humor. This movie is pretty funny if you can read through the lines and get the jokes. The people who made this movie did their homework on Nazi Germany. There are MP40 and STG44 guns made into space guns. Priceless! A woman calls a german soldier a "Crystal Nacht POS". Thats funny if you know your history. The black guy being turned into and Aryan is also funny because its so unbelievable. Christopher Kirby is really good and has some great lines. There are some good one liners, the CGI is really good for a low budget movie. Space Zeppelins, another classic. A Sarah Palinesque US President. So many good ideas.

Billions (2016–2023)

One long commercial and pointless cameos

This series should have ended after season 3. You see shameless plugs for Fiji bottled water and other products. Cameos that promote chefs I've never heard of. Blatant promotion of businesses, ie, Joe Stone Crab from Miami. Cameos of people I've never heard of. The storyline of Chucks kinky sex life adds nothing to the show. The most irritating thing is the treatment of gender identity. Taylor, a women, demands to be addressed by plural pronouns, "They, Them, You". Utter crap. And then when Taylor is being talked about when Taylor is not in the scene, the actors refer to Taylor as, "Them or They". One, you now have no idea of who the characters are talking about until several minutes have gone by until you figure out that its Taylor being reference to. Why? The show pretty much becomes a soap opera after the initial conflict is resolved between Axe and Chuck. And now there is a season 6 coming. No thanks.

There are a ton of easily made, cheesy movies on Netflix. I've watched a lot of them. Most of them are really good in that they are made knowing that the movie is cheesy and hokey. Too many people rate these types of movies as "1" star thinking that the movies are supposed to be something they aren't, cinematic masterpieces. This movie is really good if you take it at face value as a no name cast with CGI effects. Cornin Nemeck is really good and the rest of the cast does a good job. There are some funny jokes and nods to some other well known movies. Sit back and just enjoy the camp that this movie is.

The Last Stand (2013)

A fun action movie

I was thinking Arnold was getting a little old to movies but this one proved me wrong. What I like about this movie is that it's not over the top about Arnold. He's a part but there are many other characters that add to the movie. Arnie keeps the one liners to just the right amount. Johnny Knoxville was better than I expected. The other actors are really good too. If you are any way into guns, then you'll love the use of some really old weapons in this movie. Nice to see Arnie make fun of himself and saying his character is, "old" in this film..

Capone (2020)

Matt Dillon must have need money

I've watched a lot of direct to digital movies not expecting much but this movie just plain sucks. Tom Hardy doesn't need to act in this movie. All Hardy does is look pale and mumble. I thought the movie would show some flashbacks and have Capone so some remorse for the violence he had done, this movie does none of that. Matt Dillon is hardly in this movie but it must have been worth the money for him I guess. There is nothing even remotely accurate in this movie. When Capone retired to Florida he was basically mentally incompetent. How would anyone in this mental state ever get a hold of a machine gun let alone a gold plated one. Capone was 48 when he died. He was hardly the gray haired 60 year old looking character in this movie. This movie has no direction other than to show dementia is bad. Even for a free movie on Netflix, this has to be one of the worst movies I've seen.

Axcellerator (2020)

Great B movie

This movie has some decent acting. The special effects are pretty good and the plot is pretty enjoyable. For a netfix movie, it was worth watching.

Pointless

Its always nice to see the old cast back together. But Michael Learned is missing. There is a fill in actor for Richard Thomas. And the creepiest part is where the grandchildren see Will Geer, grandpa Walton in the forest and talk to him. Grandma Walton had a stroke in real life and its sad to see her try to act with other than a few grunts. Then new John Boy actor pretty much ruins this show.

Last Man Standing (2011–2021)

Heading downhill fast

I really enjoyed the first 6 season of this show. The 7th season started well but it j has just gone south. I've given the new Mandy every consideration but she just doesn't cut it like Molly Ephraim did. There isn't the biting political commentary now that Obama is gone from office. There's hardly any of the supporting cast on anymore. I enjoyed Ryan's liberal view to fight with Mike. The new Chinese character is just a desperate move that isn't working. The Jen character is like the cousin Oliver on the Brady Bunch or the twin boys on Full House. When a series introduces a new character to pick up ratings, it's a good sign the show is over. I really want to like this show but I've pretty much given up watching any of the new episodes. Thankfully there are plenty of reruns of this show from the first 6 seasons. I'd be surprised if this show lasts until season 8.

The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (2019)

Don't bother.

The first Lego movie was great. The Batman one and even Ninjago movies were pretty good. This one is just lame. It doesn't take long to figure out that this whole movie is about the brother and sister fighting while playing with Legos. That premise is easy to figure out since the ending of the first Lego movie was about the dad and son fighting. I kept waiting for this movie to get interesting, it never did. My wife, who is a big Lego fan was even thinking of walking out. This whole movie is one big lovey, touchy, feel good movie or it leads up to that. There really is no villain in this movie. The best part of the movie was listening to the song while the credits were playing. The rest of the movie was just plain boring.

Incoherent Ramble

I thought with Lisa Kudrow, this might be an ok movie, nope. The whole movie is about a group of people seated at the table of misfits. But the movie just never really shows how these people are misfits. There's definitely no plot. The movie comes across as an angry ex bride's maid that is just pissed because here life isn't going well.

Its a great feel good movie. Nothing new in the story line but its fun to watch anyways. People are complaining that its one long ad for the cruise line, GET OVER IT, its hardly that.

I watched this because Kelsey Grammer was in it. Its a great feel good movie. Yes, The cruise line gets a bit of a lift by having their name in the movie but not enough to take away from a good story.

My wife and I both enjoy Diane Lane and that was the only reason we thought of watching this movie. The scenery was pretty good but the plot was terrible. The French "friend" she was traveling with came off as a total douche. I don't care what country you are from, trying to have sex with the married wife or your business associate is just wrong. What is sad is that the lack of social morals is portrayed as ok because the man is French. I'd like to see what French married women would have to say about this. And the movie has no end. She gets a letter and we have no idea what happens next?
