Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (2023)
Loved it...
I've got zero complaints or critiques about this film. It was a perfect TMNT film in my honest opinion. The animation was great and it was funny as hell through and through. The cast was really enjoyable and being a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for 30 plus years, it was a delight to see all of these characters I've come to know through the cartoon, video games, and toys come to life. Jackie Chan's Splinter was awesome and hilarious. It had a great mid-credits scene to set up the next film which builds up the excitement for more. My kids enjoyed it too. Hasn't been a ton of great films in the cinemas this summer but this was definitely a fave.
The Colgate Comedy Hour (1950)
King of the Tuk Tuk sound...
My favorite episode was with Marcus "The Worm" Hicks and Tiny Boop Squigg Shorterly hitting those high Cs all night long. Guy's practically a household name for being the king of the Tuk Tuk sound and in my opinion far superior to Paul Bufano. Bufano is very meat and potatoes. Sure, Cafeteria Jangle was great but Bufano's later stuff is dwarfed in comparison to a Hicks and Shorterly bill. I'm also pretty big on Thaddeus Finks. He's no Roy Donk but I believe he was also a regular guest on the Colgate Hour. Mookie Kramer and the 8 balls was a can't miss performance as well. These artists were all ideal for those with a curious mind.
Ryan's Mystery Playdate (2019)
I gave it a 1 because there wasn't a lower option...
I want to rag on this show so bad because it really is hot garbage. I want to comment on what sleazy stage parents Ryan's folks are but I really need to remind myself that this is the world we're living in. This is the world that YouTube, Tik tok, Snapchat, vine, whatever the hell has wrought upon us all. In an age where Jersey Shore and the Kardashians is considered by many to be quality programming, I guess I'm not surprised the garbage is hitting the kids now too. Oh boy, what a world we live in now.
Epic Movie (2007)
My only regret...
...is that I can't rate this movie any lower than a 1. Spoiler alert: this movie is trash and everything from Friedberg and Seltzer is wet, steamy garbage.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
Ignore the critics...
As a Ghostbuster fan for nearly 40 years, I thought this was great. Paul Rudd was a delight as usual and the kid actors were pretty great. There were a few instances in the movie where I was really missing Harold Ramis. Sweet movie. Can't wait to take my kiddos to see it.
