Carnival Row (2019)
Painful to watch
High quality production, but not one likable character. Many of the British actors sound as if they are faking a British accent. Too many A-listers acting as if they are in a play for children, over acted or under acted, such a waste. Interesting premise, but too stupid for adults and too bawdy for kids. Show runners should be ostracized for their belittling portrayal of the vertically challenged.
Aquaman (2018)
Written by a five year old.
Nonsensical story, with to many rip-offs. Nothing original. I'd rather watch my fish tank. How the actors can take themselves seriously after this...shame on all of you.
Legion: Chapter 19 (2018)
Visuals were ok.
Turning everyone against each other, betraying each other makes everyone unlikable. Seeing now where they wanted to go with this they wast d way too much time in earlier episodes when they could have been slowly building these transitions, instead we get most just seeing David suddenly as the monster, because Sid saw some scenes of questionable origin, and that is enough to make Sid want to shoot and kill David? Don't think so, people don't change that fast. Then she goes from pointing a gun to trying to convince him he needs help, and she wants to help? Please just bring back the simpler sane days of clockworks, where character and story blended beautifully with visuals and sound. Boo.
Impulse: Vita/Mors (2018)
Heavy breathing seems to be the only way to show fear or panic
It's a reoccurring device for Henry and others, but weak. Maybe not the best idea when trying to not be noticed at the beginning. Shows ok tho.
Legion: Chapter 15 (2018)
No it's not getting better and better...
Not a bad episode, just not up to the quality of season one. a little Naked Lunch feeling, and not a very good nod at that. Mostly uninteresting. Still watching but not hoping for any improvement.
Legion: Chapter 16 (2018)
The 10 star reviews for this one seem fake.
Please get more critical with the 10 star reviews, why do you think it is so great. Or did you maybe not even watch it?
This episode was nicely filmed but we are back to more of the slow/no pacing with the story. Such potential lost. It's as if there wasn't enough material so they just stretched the season out with people walking through a desert or driving to a desert, or wondering where the desert might be or...
Season one had it. This season only episode 5 and 6 are worth watching, every other episode thus far makes you want to pull your hair out, and not in a shared psychosis sort of way, but an uber bored way. Kinda sad.
Should have stuck with 8 episodes like season one instead of the directors standing behind the camera giving the stretch this out sign (pointing finger and thumb pressed together on both hands-stuck together and pulled apart. There's not even enough here for 6 episodes. Guessing they will finish with a bang, but what could have been a great entire season is not.
Legion: Chapter 14 (2018)
finally getting back to what made season 1 so good
A stand-alone tangent yes. But based on how Chapter 13 ended, it was a lovely look at David's relationship with his sister, and various possible outcomes, based on choices made and not made. So well done, filmed, written and acted. Dan Stevens and Katie Aselton were awesome in this episode, epic-like even.
So why did we have to wait for 5 and 6 for things to get back the the quality of Season 1? Will be interesting to see if they stick with this level of intensity or return to the campy-ness that was Chapters 9-12. The entire season deserves needs to be on par with these last two episodes and sadly the first 4 weren't.
Black Panther (2018)
Not as bad as The Last Jedi?
But bad, a low point for Marvel/Disney. So sad..
Weak character origin, weak main actor, was there a script?
Legion: Chapter 13 (2018)
Aubrey Plaza rocks!
This is the first episode this season with the integrity of season 1. Trancelike locked from start to finish, with a creepy ending unexpected.
Legion: Chapter 12 (2018)
Worst episode so far
It's fine to get to know Syd's backstory but this is a bit much, slow and drawn out. Get on with it. Some interesting stuff but over all too repetitive to enjoy.
Legion: Chapter 11 (2018)
A little better than Season 2 episodes 1 and 2
Good interaction with the Shadow King. Actors seem more into it than e1 and e2. So maybe this is picking up. Still lacking, and seems inconsistent. As in the voices David hears and e1 and 2 seem to be gone. Where did they go? I think I liked him better when he had the shadow king inside him.
Legion: Chapter 10 (2018)
Still lacking the luster of season 1
Still seems a bit forced like the last episode. Still waiting for something more. A bit of altered states here but also another let down compared to last season.
Legion: Chapter 9 (2018)
Trying too hard or not enough
Firstly, many episodes in season 1, especially the pilot, were ground breaking TV. Was so excited for season 2. But this first episode was a bit of a let down. Very little story progression, a cartoon about Zhuangzi and his butterfly, already referenced last fall in Netflix's Dark, why are we seeing it here too?, a lame dance off that I felt embarrassed for the actors to have to perform, and then a flashback to David in the orb talking to a future Syd. Not sure who but someone got lazy, and produced a boring start to S2. Guessing it will pick up. But the high fan boy reviews, sry, not buying it. Wasn't horrible, just not on par at any level with S1.
