The highlight of this episode, though I loved all of it, is of course, the opening two scenes. Though there's no dialogue, the motivation of each character is perfectly conveyed to the viewer, along with the emotions they go through along the way. It even does a lovely job of expressing the rising and falling tension experienced by characters throughout both scenes, though, the show is still able to portray them in its characteristic silly and lighthearted way. Possibly my favorite part of all is the full orchestral score throughout the entirety of both scenes, with musical themes and composition devices that further deepen the emotions being expressed, mimic the actions of the characters, and smoothly transition each segment from one moment to the next.
I'm no reviewer, and I can't do this scene justice, but OH MY GOODNESS it truly was fantastic. And, it was incredibly successful at what it was intended to do. Like the writers proving to us that they can engage us just as much (if not more), even without the style of dialogue we've come to know this show for. The formula break might actually be the thing that excited me the most.
