Ikhwène (2018)
Tailored to Western audiences to
I still can't believe this movie has won awards. It's not worth it. It was so stereotypical. Since when are terrorists able to cross the border into Tunisia by car?! Since when do women with Niqab not remove it at home and sleep with it?! What's even more hilarious is that in Islam a woman doesn't need to cover her hair in front of her father-in-law! But here we have a woman wearing a Niqab even in front of her mother-in-law!
The "Syrian" girl can't even imitate the Syrian dialect properly. Non Arabic speakers can't detect this and many other problems in the movie. For this very reason I find this movie to be meant solely for Western audiences to feed their stereotypes.
The director seems interested in winning awards at all costs even if it meant lying about her country of origin.

Good movie
A movie that pays homage to bodyguards. A lot of assassination attempts fail with only one or two bodyguards perishing. These assassinations are often forgotten because the main target survives. This movie made me look at things differently. It made me respect bodyguards even more. They should be looked up to for their bravery and dedication to save human lives.

Outstanding
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. This movie was recommended to me many years ago but I didn't watch it. Last September I decided to watch it and I understood why it was recommended to me by many people. I regret not watching it earlier! Every detail about the movie is amazing. The soundtrack is outstanding and the acting is surreal. It hits right in the feels! I cried a lot throughout the movie. Despite that it was a sad movie, I enjoyed every bit of it. Today I'm watching it for the second time! I don't really write movie reviews but I felt the need to let the world know that this movie is a must-watch.
