So much better than expected...
18 December 2020
I wasn't expecting much, but I have to say I was totally WOWED by this. I can understand why people might think - more action - but it was perfect. Just enough of exposition and story creation as well as back story for the characters that by the end of the film I was very VERY pleased.

Good gore, good violence, no BS.

I thought it was well made and very entertaining, and all of the actors did a superb job.

Can't wait for a sequel. \m/

One of my new favorite Top 10 Mel Gibson movies - after all of his earlier bad assery.

Don't Waste Your Money
26 December 2011
Warning: Spoilers
We went to see this Christmas night. The entire family thought this was horrible. We were ready to leave 20 minutes into it. We (I) was hoping for it to get good and was sorely disappointed: it only got worse. The dialog was below amateurish, the acting was poor, the story/plot ridiculous. Don't Waste Your Money! Wait for Netflix or Cable TV. Not worth paying for. The only redeeming thing about this movie was some of the special effects. Most were done fairly well, but the aliens themselves, once their invisible shields were disrupted, were nothing more than scary looking Pokemon type creatures. It was a big letdown. This whole movie was a big letdown.

Seven Mummies (2006)

Less Than Mediocre
31 January 2006
Themovie opens with a horribly lame scene - two men in the desert, no town nearby, no horses, no provisions, and dragging a casket. Right! This is the opening to what becomes and even worse attempt at film making. Poor dialogue, poor story, unbelievable circumstance, and mediocre - at best - make up effects make this one big bomb of a stinker. Don't get me wrong, I'm a HUGE fan of horror and have been since near birth. Love low-budget films since they nearly all contain the raw, gritty edge that Hollywood films almost always lack. But 7 Mummies is not worth anyones time let alone the money they spent to make this. The direction is just plain bad with overly long cut scenes and poor angles that do no justice to the forced story line. Just a big bunch of YUCK!

Two Fisted (2004)

Not worth the video it was shot on.
17 December 2005
It was my distinct misfortune to have attempted to watch this movie (loosely termed). All I can say is, "AWFUL!"

1) Running soundtrack in the background. Not just mood music to increase tension, but a running jukebox of poorly recorded local rock tunes. Is this a music video or a movie?

2) Shot on video. A lot of yellow lighting.

3) What's the story line? Who can follow it? Who cares?

4) Characters that are barely two dimensional, let alone ones you would care about.

5) Fight scenes? Non existent. With a title like Two Fisted and a Tag Line of "Prepare for the Ultimate Beatdown.", you would expect at least some good fight scenes. Not there.

Throw in a mess of characters and a matchstick framework of back story and you sit there during this holocaust saying, "What?"

It's incoherent, all over the place, and as solid as tissue paper. I couldn't sit through the whole thing. After 40 minutes of trying to understand what the writer/director was attempting to do, I found myself fast forwarding to the next scene, watching a minute or two, fast forwarding, etc.

Needless to say, not worth the time. Don't bother with this one.
