32 years old and still better than new Aladdin movie

Seriously. The story is different, sometimes cheesy, but the acting is better imo. Characters have more personality.

Aladdin (2019)

I really wanted to love this... but I just can't.

I read reviews of people saying this is better than the original and cannot help but wonder what drugs they're on. I'd 100% take the voice actors in the original over the flat sounding, less emotional normal actors. Like it's colorful, it's got nice graphics, but it just doesn't have the same excitement. It's not really even something I'd play in the background on netflix. I'm really not trying to rain on the film, I just don't like the character of it. I grew up on Fairy Tale Theater and their version of Aladdin, as old as I am, still captures my attention more even without flashy colors or fancy computer generated tigers. Like.. that's old, but their characters still had more flare and personality. I think Disney is a little too reliant on how much you loved the original. If you aren't in love with the original, you really don't sit on the edge of your seat for these characters imo.

A classic for the ages
23 May 2019
Written for adults, it's not cheesy and forgettable but rather lovely and heart warming. And yet, children can safely watch it without getting the adult overtones. I grew up with it and loved it, and it still makes me cry some 30 years later. I miss Disney like this when it wasn't just rewriting someone else's story or marketing off the big name actors lending their voice. Lady and the Tramp stands on it's own merit through generations.

Unplanned (I) (2019)

I only wish it showed more

Ever since I heard about Abby, I wanted to know more about her story. She's the prime reason I wanted to see this movie. I don't have a problem with people being pro choice (not to say I like it), but I do very much have a problem with the predatory nature and one track decision guiding that happen at facilities like this today. Not all of them, and not every single Planned Parenthood even, but too many. I wish the left and pro abortionists were able to be more honest. This movie points at some of the practices, but there's so many more. Like fine be pro abortion, but be honest about it.

And on a side note, it angers me that this got an R rating. That was needless. I suppose humanizing the dehumanized is terrifying however, shocking even. Anyway, wish the movie told more of Abby's story but it was pretty good. One of those everyone should see it once kind of deals.

Alice in Wonderland (II) (1985)
Highly recommended!!
1 January 2018
This is one of my favorite movies of all time, and even today I'm impressed that a movie a year older than myself was done this well. It really is just the way Alice in Wonderland should be! Fantastical, wonderful, confusing, dark, bright, crazy, and beautiful yet realistic ish XD They had a lovely cast too, couldn't believe Ringo Star was the Turtle. Sammy Davis Jr too! Some characters grow close to your heart, others freak you out, and the jaberwocky is creepy as it should be. I love that it has dark undertones and Alice is constantly fluctuating between good and bad and logical and confusing. I really love that it makes her face her fears right on. The lack of cgi also astounds me, they did a marvelous job with what little manipulation they did have. I really miss movies like this. Just lovely! A true classic.
