What actually happened?
10 September 2023
The accent of the English spoken in this movie has made this film very difficult to understand for international audience, to non-Americans, and especially when Netflix is offering this movie WITHOUT English subtitles (I use Italian Netflix).

After watching the movie I was left without actually understanding why the explosion happened, what was the major flaw in the system, and what could have been done to prevent it. In these terms the movie was not successful in bringing across any message, all that remains are interesting shots of helicopters, water and mud explosions.

I wish the movie was available with English subtitles, and it was explained in one way or another what went wrong. Otherwise it's just a catastrophic movie full of fire and explosions, and even the interesting cast is not changing my overall opinion. I wish there was another attempt to make a good movie of Deepwater Horizon, as the subject itself is very interesting and worth watching. I am not sure what was the main idea behind this script. If anyone knows a good movie on Deepeater Horizon please mention it in the comments.

Focus Netflix! English is English.
31 May 2023
When will Netflix finally Understand: when I choose English and the language I want to listen to the film in English and not partially in French. Stop this. I am not interested in these constant mixes of languages, I watch Netflix when I cook and no, I cannot stand there and read the subtitles: I WANT THIS IN ENGLISH, UNDERSTOOD?!?!?!

For the rest the series is based on a good idea, execution a bit strange.

Portrait
15 January 2023
An interesting portrait of a man who wanted to see it all. Once he saw quite a lot he couldn't stop any more because a journey was his way of living, was his idea for life.

He stopped only when he was old. Went back to his home town after not being there for over 50 years. What price did he pay for his extremely long travel? What did he miss out? What was the sense of it all? What is left of it now? What will be left for the future ? What do we leave after us anyway when we pass away? Many questions to ponder is silence of this almost subtle documentary.

I am glad I saw this documentary, it might surprise you in a way it is done, beaus it doesn't concentrate on counting the countries or following the route of the journey, it's about a sense of it all.

Quite good
18 September 2022
I enjoyed watching this film. It is different from all the other films you can see on Netflix. Based on a very interesting story. What this film has to offer are beautiful pictures of the see and under-the-surface world. The main characters risking their lives make you involved and worried about them every time they try to break a new diving record. At the beginning they mention though a Russian record diver named Alex Sikorsky- I could not trace this person anywhere in internet. Is this a fictional character? Sikorski is a Polish nobile family name, there was as well a Polish king with this name. So why Russian????? It lacks some basic research. Is Bonaparte an Italian name?

Oh no

I was really enjoying this film a lot until I saw the final part. This was kind of traumatic experience and made me feel uncomfortable. I want to avoid spoilers but it spoiled the joy of the first part.

Why feed your mind with these atrocities?
24 April 2022
As many others, probably, I found myself watching this show and asking myself 'Why am I doing this to myself?'. Terrible images of sadism and atrocities and when you think it cannot get any worse they are even surpassed by a cruelty of the next episode. Just an unending chain of pain and humiliation. After some time you start asking yourself what value it ads to your life and to your psyche. It is nothing of value and nothing that will do you any good. Just be careful of what you're feeding your mind with.

Disappointing
14 March 2021
I don't understand: why buy rights to film a great thriller book and then make a film that has nothing to do with what was so great about the book? None of the stories from the book can be found in the film. None of the turning points, barely any surprise. The film itself instead of concentrating on the nature of relationships and important questions around the topics of why we really happen to be with or to love someone concentrates on an invented old crime, which is catching up with the main character. Really?? We've seen thousands films like that already! This series is a disappointment, but I highly recommended the book 'The One'.
