Shôgun: Broken to the Fist (2024)
Powerful.
Man, im having such a blast with this show, it keeps getting better and better!
This episode focusses mostly on the traditions the Japanese have and how seriously they take them and the viewers learns about this trough the eyes of blackthorne, which is captivating.
The dinner scene was incredible from starting rather funny to becoming really serious and emotional very fast. Probably the best scene of the show thus far.
Besides that the plot keeps unfolding and keeps getting more exciting, I already can't wait for next week. This show is so good, the actors, music, beautiful scenery are all incredible. It is truely history in the making!
Dune: Part Two (2024)
A masterpiece in every aspect
Dune: part two is the continuation of the already excellent Dune: part one, and I'm so happy to say that this movie is insane. I really think this movie is amazing in every aspect.
Starting with the world building, this was my favorite aspect from the first movie, and this movie builds further on that in such excellence, and in combination with the astounding cinematography I really felt like I was there on arrakis. You will learn much more about the freman and their ways of life which is fascinating. I'm still in shock and I want to go back.
All the performance are also so good. The story builds further on all the old characters who are fleshed out even more with new complex layers to them and the new characters who are also all great, especially Austin Butler! His performance makes his character truely scary, such a good villain. Timothee Chalamet is also great is this movie and really shows the complex things Paul is going thru this movie, which was really cool and even scary sometimes to see unfold. The same goes for all the other actors, I just can't say there was a lesser performance, everyone really gave there all and it shows!
Also, the score is (again) incredibly good! Hans Zimmer also builds upon the music he made for the first movie, which results in an even better score which also elevates the movie to an even higher level.
In conclusion, this movie is a masterpiece, it starts slower, but that's a good thing. It needs that, so in that way everything keeps building upon each other which eventually explodes in one of the best climaxes I have ever seen! I'm really still in awe, and I could keep talking about how great everything is, but believe me, just watch the movie. Go to the biggest screen you can find and watch it. You will be blown away, this is really one of the best films of the generation. Thank you, Dennis Villeneuve and everyone who worked on this movie, and I'll eagerly be waiting for Dune: Messiah!
Long live the fighters!
100/100.
Barry: wow (2023)
Indeed wow
Well that didn't go down at all how I expected it to go. Talk about subverting expectations ( yes I'm looking at you D&D), but done in a right way. Every character got their time to shine one final time and although I wouldn't have minded a longer episode, it was an awesome finale.
The face-off between hank and fuches was really intense and ended in a intense but also funny way only this show could pull off, and hank dying in the hands of christobal, come on that was so good and really sad. RIP to Noho Hank, one of the funniest and most tragic characters ever written.
Fuches gives Barry his son back because he feels like he needs to protect him just like he did with his father, and they share one final look before fuches runs into the darkness and the legend of the raven lives on.
After that in the hotel sally realizes that Barry is still Barry and she wants to protect her son and herself, so when Barry wakes up the next morning, they are gone so he goes to Cousineau because sally talked to him and yeah, Barry said it the best: oh wow! Gene, who doesn't know what to do anymore takes the gun and shoots Barry, just when he was about to turn himself in! Bam! Then we get this painting like shot of gene sitting on the couch next to Barry and we hear applause.
Now we are further into the future, Sally and her son live a normal live and sally is successful in the theatre once more as a teacher. After a good show, we see sally smiling again for the first time in a while, and while she isn't her old self again, she looks happy. John asks if he can go to a sleepover and he and the last sequence of the episode is his friend and him watching THE movie. It is done in a funny way and sums up the story how everyone on the outside thinks it went. They will never know about Barry's and fuches history, about the pain Hank went thru, about Sally's struggles and about what really happened with Cousineau and Barry, and I think that makes it extra special for us, that we where taken along on this wild ride. In the end, we see that Gene is in prison for the rest of his life for the murder on his girlfriend and Barry will be remembered as a hero, and we see a final smile on his sons face and that is where Barry ends.
This is most certainly the most bizarre finale of a show i have ever seen and of course that is something I could have expected from Barry. I will really miss this show. Thank you Bill Hader for creating something unique like this, it was a blast.
Vinland Saga (2019)
Season 2 is om another level!
In case u didnt already know, this is not Only one of the greatest animes ever made, but also one of the greatest shows in general ever Made. The slower but in my opinion best season 2 is simply incredible. They make every character feel so real and especially thorfinn. His journey of self Discovery to realise what it means to become A true warrior is one of the best written thinks I've ever seen on television. It simply doest get better then this and every slow buildup gets rewarded!
If u haven't already, please go watch this show, it's really worth it I promise and season 2 isn't even done yet, so prepare to get blasted away!
Dune (2021)
One of the most interesting films i have ever seen
I saw Dune last night with a friend and altough we both havent read the book, we were blown away. I loved every single second of this movie, i have never seen visuals this good ever in a movie, the acting was amazing, especially Timothee Chalemet, that boy is going places, Hans Zimmer's score is beautiful (as always) and a perfect match to this movie.
The thing i loved the most about this movie is the worldbuilding, everything is so interesting and georgeous to look at. The machines and equipment they use, the clothes they wear and so on. The concept of everything is just so interesting and different than every sci-fi movie i have ever seen, simply amazing.
However, I think not everyone is going to enjoy this movie, it is a slow moving story that takes its time to unfold so you can see more of this world and i love that. All i can say is that it was very different than i expected it to be, but i loved every frame of it.
Like I said i havent read the book so i cant really judge the story to much but from someone who went into this movie blind i can tell you the story is amazing and a perfect first chapter to this story, and i am left wanting more so i cant wait untill the second part comes out! Untill then, i am definitly going to read the book so i can know how this interesting sci-fi masterpiece will end.
Make sure to watch it in the cinema if you have the chance, you will be blown away!
Tenet (2020)
Personally, I loved it
This really is a movie that is not for everyone, but I really enjoyed this movie. I had the abilty to watch this movie twice in imax and I saw it with subtitles, so I didnt have any problems with loud noises and also, the music is awesome, Ludwig Goransson did a great job of composing amazing music for the movie. I also love that the movie is complex, its like a puzzle and after watching it twice, I kind of solved it. I understand that some people dont like that and thats ok, like I said its not for everyone. But if you are interested in this movie and you have the chance to see it, I really recommend it!
The 100 (2014)
A really great show
Yes it is true, the show started a bit slow, but it only goes uphill from there! I really recommend this show, the story is great, the characters are all great and I cant wait for Season 7. Just go watch it, you wont regret it!
