Road House (2024)

2nd Hour!!!

I do not leave many reviews however, this movie was deserving of one... The first hour of the movie is okay.... It sort of lays the foundation for the entire movie... It is ONLY when Knoxx arrives on the scene that the movie gets good... Connor McGregor brought life to the movie in this character and it seems that his arrival was just the catalyst to awaken Jake Gyllenhaal's psychotic side.... Knox, Dalton and,,,, The Nice Bad Guy combined, make this movie worth the watch..... No, it is not Patrick Swayze or Sam Elliott however, Roadhouse 2024 is a good remake of a classic.... Worth the watch.

I am glad that I paused the movie and read the reviews before giving up on this movie. It does move pretty slowly in the beginning and Corey H's "sickly" character is very annoying. In these movies, there's always the sick person in the group who slows the group down or holds them back. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that his character was the total opposite. Sick but still ready and able to defend or put up a fight.

The movie starts slowly but, it is worth it considering the action and quality of film that comes later on. This movie does not disappoint. Not even up to the Very last second. I honestly wanted to see more. A sequel and Preguel would be worth watching.

So, after a few scenes of a silhouette lurking around, you will guess just who the killer is. The movie moves do very slowly and there are times when you want to just hang it up. In fact, I fell asleep on it but decided to finish it the next morning.

Well, I had to pause the movie to write this review. The movie is worth the wait. Although we didn't get enough of him, Thomas Jane really stands out. Also, I appreciate the fact that his wife was afraid to get dirty but when she did, she went all in! This movie is definitely a slow burn but the last few minutes are worth the watch and made up for the slow beginning.

There are no spoilers in this review, so feel comfortable reading the little bit that I've written.

What I disliked about this movie, is the overall dark, "gray" or dreary look that it has. There's no real brightness or sunlight, which can give a movie a "dull" and/or "boring" feel.

There's no big "Hollywood effects" with that being said, What makes this movie scary, is knowing that all of this could actually happen to someone in real life.

No matter how long you've been acquainted with someone, do you really know them?

This movie was actually pretty good. Predictable but good. Jurnee Smollett's dimple will always give her away lol. I knew that I recognized her from Full House. It's seems as if she's ery picky about the roles that she chooses to play, which prevents her from being type casted. It's nice to see a beautiful and intelligent woman who's an actor, and willing to get dirty and rough it. Again, she's very versatile and did a great job in this movie.

The actor playing Vee did a great job also. For a child actor, she carried her weight in the film and delivered the role.

The guy playing the "father" ...I knew that I had seen him before, he was the brother in Damnation on Netflix. He always plays a character that seems to have a disconnect from the other characters bit, it always works. I'd watch a sequel.

Allison Janney, I don't recall seeing her play any roles like this. I WILL NOT say much about her role. Watch the movie...WOW!

Straight to the point...the was a pretty good movie. The twist in the end reminds me of the Rocky when he fought the Russian and gives a speech about how we all can change.

There was Rocky, Rambo, The Expendables and Escape Plan .. I'd like to see more of this type of movie from Sly. The kids of today, deserve the pleasure of seeing what we 80s kids grew up with. All of the Marvel Characters are all neat and clean super heroes. Get back to the grit.

This honestly also reminds me me a little of Hancock.

This movie is perfect. A Dark and gritty "Marvel" Type Movie. Jamie Foxx's performance reminded me of Denzel Washington in Training Day. I became a Joseph Gordon Levit fan after watching this. The scene with he and the mom was gold. I wish that the rap wasn't a Daydream.
