The Hacker Wars (2014)

Informative Regardless of Viewpoint

In today's world, it's incredibly important to know just how anonymous (pun intended) people really aren't when online. Whether you oppose these proclaimed "hacktivists", or admire their creative way to resolve a felt injustice, there's a lot of quality info here. It's an easy and engaging watch. Working in fraud, I couldn't be more surprised for how many people are so careless on the internet.

The viewpoint is fairly biased, but there's nothing to suggest a significant revolution just by watching the film. The only truly horrifying part is how many hipsters are present in this documentary. Kidding of course.

The Purge (I) (2013)

Solid film for what it is

There are a lot of people out there who apparently think this film is garbage because it doesn't "explain enough" among many other ridiculous complaints.

The budget for this movie was limited and it is very short. Basically, you're watching a thriller that offers excitement, action, with a bit of creepy banter and gestures.

If you think you're getting a movie that's going to go into huge details about the full nationwide Purge, 1) you're not and 2) it's obvious your not because nothing in any of the trailers suggests that you should expect the focus to take place anywhere outside of the home, outside of some footage of American's "purging".

For what it is, this film is actually enjoyable. There are some things that I would personally change, and the actions of some of the characters will make you bang your head against the wall, but it does what thriller/horror movies should make you do which is to ultimately speculate.

If you have 85 minutes to kill and want to see a film that is as original of a concept as you'll see in this world today, it's definitely worth it.

If you are somebody who feels the need to critique every single second of every film you watch, you simply won't enjoy it.

Remember, this is a thriller/horror movie. Most of them aren't very good, and generally aren't supposed to be. But many of them are quite entertaining, and this one surely is.
