Black Mirror: Demon 79 (2023)
Forget it's black mirror
First of all this season was very mid. The two first episodes were good. 3rd and 4th were awful.
About this episode, I was about to give it a 1/10 when the talisman thing happened because it has absolutely nothing to do with what Black mirror is supposed to be (the excesses of technologies and a criticism of it). But I must admit this episode was very enjoyable to watch and the acting was great, especially Anjana Vasan. Of course some scenes were very cliché but sometimes we don't need to be such demanding perhaps.
Another thing I really like about this episode was the atmosphere, you are transported back in the 70s in England and it feels real.
So it's a pity but to enjoy fully this episode I think you need to forget you're watching Black mirror.
La chica de nieve: Episode #1.5 (2023)
A movie in itself
This episode is incredible, way better than the previous ones.
It's only focused on the couple of kidnappers. They changed the reality of the girl that they kidnapped. They changed her name, didn't give her any access to the outside world. The world outside their house was described as « mean » so that they could prevent her from running away.
The fact that this episode only focuses on this couple, the girl, the only visits now and then, make this episode smooth and seem like a movie.
This episode is quite realistic (as you can except from this situation), the mother only gives the girl basic lessons of maths for instance, everything in that logic to keep her at home without asking any questions or the very least.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Didn't deserve so much spotlight
It was the only movie I watched in a theater this year and I clearly didn't get the hype.
I didn't expect anything, I didn't know what the movie was about. But the trailer was very appealing and I liked this idea of almighty.
I heard a lot of people say it was one of the best movies and it's absolutely not the case. I rated this movie 6/10 because the acting and the special effects were very good but the script was a disaster, my rating is also not lower because I really think it could have been a great movie but it stayed on an easy path and was quite pretentious. And the movie was boring, I was always checking the time it was. It was a repetition of messy situations.
MH370: The Plane That Disappeared (2023)
Great but leaves some questions
I found this documentary well produced.
It gives you 3 possible hypothesis. I don't get the bad reviews. The journalist from Le Monde in the last episode is excellent and her theory goes together with the fragments discovered by the american woman in the south china sea and that no one cared about. The last theory seems the closest one of the reality. The investigations were quickly abandoned in this area. The fact that the datas of the simulator obtained from the pilot came 2 years after the disappearance from the FBI and giving credit to the suicidal theory. I'm not sure about the hypothesis that the US were targeting some materials inside the plane but more about the fact that the plane was flying over a military base during a military training.
Terrifier (2016)
Not bad but annoying at some point
+ this movie is pretty well filmed + the stress is maintained +/- the acting is ok, could be worse
- only bad choices made by the characters, getting annoying throughout the movie
- not even a single door is open, it's getting ridiculous
- repetitives situations occur, characters make bad choices, hit only one time the clown then run away just for staring at him few seconds later hiding behind something
The second movie is definitely better : better acting, better filmed, better music, takes place in more locations (the first movie is only located in an abandoned building and a restaurant at the beginning)
