Chup - Sound Masterpiece

I clearly don't know where to start - Also equally don't want to give even a slightest spoiler yet have to give the look and feel of the movie.

If you love movie, CHUP is going to take you to different world of cinema. Brilliantly weaved scenes and wonderful editing work. Technically very strong movie whilst visually entertaining and fresh. Easily one of the best movie of the year, hope the serial killer in this movie doesn't hunt me down for this review.

If i can point a flaw, probably i can say the way they resolved the case was so fast and it could have been on the practical flow.

CHUP - Sure would be unforgettable movie in the Indian Industry.

No vulgar dialogues, no double meaning jokes, no gruesome killing

Story and Screenplay is not new still this movie is quite the fresh air in the Tamil cinema as we are seeing lot of movies typically following a stereotype of being different and trying to be foreign and complex story and screenplay but not many movie celebrates the family unit and weaves a story around it. This movie is one of such movie that celebrates and elevates the family unit. Probably we want more such films to be little light and enjoy the movie with a simplicity. Thoroughly enjoyed the movie and surely it is a must watch.

Spoiler ahead: This is a thorough action movie and not even one character is KILLED.

Vikram (2022)

Class-Mass Entertainer - Nothing Distinct

Everyone are applauding the movie for many reasons, let me be neutral on every aspect.

Story is nothing new, Screenplay is the hero and the way the director tried to connect his other movie is commendable, hope the sequel will give us all a proper idea as to why he connected that movie to this.

Major roles could have been done by any other actor, one character that stood out and can't be replaced is Fahadh Fasil. Kamal has done his part very well, no blame, but there is very less acting scope for an actor like Kamal - but a pure class-mass movie (the kind of entertainer that major audience would love).

Dialogues and Background score are another major factor that we could not feel the hassle of watching a 3 hr long movie.

One - Liner: Its definitely a high octane action movie but not an actor's movie.

Toolsidas Junior (2022)

Less about the character and more about the game

Can you please hold my cue stick for a moment?

Its very refreshing to see a movie based on snooker, that's a rarity in Indian cinema, and all thanks to the director for bringing this up to the viewers. With this movie as base, even a common man can learn the basic tricks and tactics of the game. Some movies inspires us, and this movie is sure in that list. Well Played, Toolsidas Jr and Toolsidas Sr. (with his acting)

This is up-straight a motivational movie and sure the characters have played their part, very well. All credits to the cast and crew.

Kaun Pravin Tambe? (2022)

Biopic of the man who never gave up

We don't learn much from success but lot from failure. This movie is such motivation to watch. Pravin Tambe is such a sportsperson who ran the longest marathon (longer time) to achieve his position. And all thanks to Rahul Dravid for recognizing his talent and to whomsoever first thought his story should be told loud in a biopic format.

About the movie: The phase of the movie is neat and steady. Casting is excellent, Shreyas lived the character. Anjali role is so important and she lived it at the best to showcase what Pravin has gone through from her perspective. Most of the biopic has the cinematic events to add spice to the story and I'm very glad that the elements in this movie is very subtle and doesn't disturbs or disrupts the pace of the movie. Thanks for the entire team for providing us an opportunity to watch WHO is Pravin Tambe?

Salute (2022)

Brilliant movie with the usual pace

What makes a movie so good? To me, how much it relates to reality. This movie is a slow ride and paced yet engaging script. It hits the right chord, even a policemen has his own limitations is the crux of this investigation.

Flaws - yes anyone can point at least near to 10 flaws which can bring down the movie to be a mediocre attempt. Even with those flaws i think this movie is such a good movie and definitely a engaging thriller.

'83 (2021)

Not a review but a honest interpretation by a cricket fan

I watched the movie in theatres today and I'm an avid fan of cricket and I'll remain one forever. There are some scenes are cliche and added dramatic elements to hit the box office for commercial reasons but atleast 70% of the movie are genuine as I have read many things that happened around the world cup but have never witnessed in person or even not born in that year. So this movie satiated the larger crowd who has not witnessed the era but badly wanted to know how things happened. And the legendary world cup final is available as a highlights to visit but we don't have the footage of Kapil Dev's 183 knock. This movie showed us how it happened and definitely this movie will be celebrated by all the Indian cricket team fans.

PS: This is a movie in motive to also survive financially so expect cinematic elements and negligible flaws.

Ondu Shikariya Kathe (2020)

This movie is one more writer's delight. Sandalwood is doing good and this movie is another proof of it. Casting is top notch. And the villain of the movie is greed. Out of greed what people can't get back is the crux of the story. The drama level of treating the same is not everyone's cup of tea but one who can appreciate it wholeheartedly can have a proper cinema experience out of this movie.

These 6 are always the pillars of any movie. Writing - Very fresh script with spice and other ingredients added. (9/10) Screenplay - Good work - Justice to the writing. (8/10) Casting - No role turns out to be unnecessary. (9/10) Acting - Male lead and Achyuth anna did a great job. Except for both the heroines all others did great. (7/10) Music - First and foremost hero of the movie is BGM score (10/10) Editing - There is a drag in some shots, can be easily avoided (6/10)

The Legend of Two Kids

Richie (the character around which the movie revolves) tells a story to his childhood friend in the interval scene and that's the story-line of this movie itself. Script writer who believes his work 100% does such a job of revealing the story line and still they will surprise you with the turns and twists of it. The narrative of the film is adapted from "Rashomon" by Akira Kurosawa but let me clear the air by saying it looks genuinely fresh nothing like the legend's work. Rakshit Shetty is surely a talented actor/director/script-writer. Swag got a new definition in this movie with the Richie character.

This is my first movie that i watched in Sandalwood and i have watched this movie at-least a dozen times after that. Such a fool proof movie. Every scene, every detail and every character is important. Definitely a 10/10 kind of movie.

Shivaji Surathkal (2020)

Clever Sandalwood's adaption of "Murder in the orient express"

Brilliant writing and screenplay. Story and the making keeps us engaged throughout the movie. Acting is sub-par.

Genuinely the writer had given his best possible attempt (and succeeded) in adapting the story-line of "murder in the orient express" and added desi-elements to make it a proper sandalwood experience. Definitely everything worked except the casting and acting which wasn't bad but didn't felt very clever (or didn't matched the standards of the writing).
