The Amazing World of Gumball: The Fan (2014)
Stalking isn't funny
While I like the fact that Darwin and Gumball react appropriately, initially, to be stlaked by Sarah the ice cream character, they then suddenly do a 180 and turn it into "well she doesn't have friends so we should be her friends :D" No, this is a REALLY bad message to give to a younger audience.
Stalking has real world consequences. It's not cute, funny, or a joke. Many people get PTSD from it. Many people end up being killed by their stalker. I understand this is a kid show, but being stalked isn't a good plot for a kid's show, espicially when they have the protagonists actively "forgive and forget" to try to be friends with said stalker.
Berlin Syndrome (2017)
Really boring movie, way too long
I'd give this movie 2.5/5 stars. Is the concept terrifying? Yes. However, this just got boring at one point (40 minutes until the end of the movie I looked at how much time was left and I was like "how the hell is there 40 minutes left in this?").
There's hardly any action (a few stabs, a few burns, and crushing injuries - that's it). There's like 3 not needed sex scenes in it (I'm not a prude but Christ can we please focus on the horror?). This movie needs to be cut down by like 25% for it to be better. Focus on the scares. The dog felt like a complete throwaway element (gave the girl a dog and then 5 minutes of screen time later takes it for a walk and then we never see the dog again).
Like I'm happy it has a happy ending but Christ this movie felt way too long and started dragging about 50-65% through it.
Final Destination 3 (2006)
Confusing death scenes
I didn't get a chance to watch this film until it came on Netflix and I'm grateful for its 10 second rewind feature because I had to do that with majority of the death scenes in this movie because it was shot very confusingly where it's not clear how something happened or why something happened (in regards to the physics in the film).
Honestly it's overall a dull film. The movie wants an excuse to show (dramatic gasp) women boobies and nipples (one of which is clearly fake, no plastic surgeon under the sun would give a teen plastic surgery on her breasts unless she was 18+ and/or had A cup breasts at age 17 or younger). I watched the triology over the course of a few nights, hoping for something to make me go "this is why this movie is iconic in horror movie history!" and I honestly just didn't get that.
It seriously felt like (across all FD movies up to this point), the behind the scenes people just wanted an excuse to shoot on film creative ways and/or nonsensible ways for people to die. It feels like if "1000 ways to die" TV show got a movie, it'd be this series.
Final Destination 2 (2003)
Downright Bizarre
This movie treats cars like if you so much tap them the wrong way, they will explode like a grenade. The "accidental" death's circumstances are so outrageous that it will leave you scratching your head. One character dies via an airbag but also has part of her head sliced open (which means zero sense considering the circumstances surrounding her death).
FD1's physics were beyond wonky and the sequel (this movie) had be more frustrated than anything else because of all the flat out factually incorrect sequences that were happening.
Family Guy: Screams of Silence: The Story of Brenda Q (2011)
No Tact
There's ways to tactfully handle tough or inherently grim subjects, Family Guy completely misses the mark. As someone whose experienced domestic violence myself, this episode just gives terrible flashbacks to instances when I was being abused. The fact that thus shows tries to make jokes out of Brenda being physically beaten by her boyfriend is NOT OK. It is currently estimated that 50-60% of women murdered were killed by their romantic partner.
Domestic violence is a very real, serious issue. It's estimated that a minimum of 25-33% of women and 14% men will experience domestic violence at some point in their life. Comedy is supposed to make you laugh, not give you flashbacks to a traumatizing point in your life.
