Inspiring movie
20 February 2018
As a lover of cinema, I watch any film I can. I often find them all excellent concerning what I absorb and learn from the people responsible for making them, but the movies that move the floor for me are the best and make the experience of watching stories one of the most beautiful and positive in life. Becks is one of those films, an incredible true story about a young musician struggling with heartbreak and being a gay. Overall, a relatable story for all of those going through rough paths, artists, musicians, and people living life to the fullest. The cast is a fantastic power force in the story, led by the talented Lena Hall and Mena Suvari from one of my favorite films ever, American Beauty. Becks is a must watch if you are into indie films with a fantastic script and performances that will leave you breathless throughout the whole movie. Recommended if you want to be inspired! It's hard to find a film nowadays that stays in your mind for weeks after you watch it. Becks is one of those movies. The story, the fantastic true story about a young musician who deals with heartbreak and abandoning her career as a response to this unfortunate event. I think most of you who have a dream and a purpose in life will find this movie inspiring, relatable, and worth your time!

Surprising and fun!

This film reminds me of some horror classics like The Ring, The Exorcist- films I would never watch on my own years ago. I wanted to have a great time with my friends and watched A Demon Within a couple of weeks ago. This film is perfect for you if you love demons and supernatural stories. There are scenes that creeped me and my friends out in ways we were not expecting and that is what I enjoyed most about this film. The element of surprise is on point, mixed with a master use of makeup and lighting that will get you thrilled more times that you will expect during its whole duration. The directors, Justin LaReau and Ayush Banker, together with the editor successfully pulled together a dance of tranquility and horror in consecutive scenes; taking the audience by surprise and making one of the most unexpected moments in films that I have had the pleasure to watch lately. Totally recommended if you want to watch something different, inspiring, and original within the horror market.

Good acting and great storytelling!

Post-apocalyptic stories add an extra level of difficulty in storytelling and to deliver a world that has ended. This movie avoids the cliché of focusing on the circumstances of surviving in this world and rather focuses intrinsically on a kidnapped scientist and his efforts to discover a cure for the monster he created which destroyed most life on the planet. A story of this caliber requires competent direction so the audience can enjoy the story as it is told. Another strong point of this project is the realistic acting of the main character, portrayed by Sean Patrick Flanery; his contribution to the film is essential. His acting is exceptional and speaks a lot for his experience as an actor as well as director Giorgio Serafini's mastery in guiding his actors to achieve what he has envisioned. Overall the film is very entertaining, the story line is both enjoyable and well-delivered, and it is a fantastic source of inspiration to all independent filmmakers.

It's sounds bad but it's actually phenomenal

It is not often that you see a special effects specialist and animator turned live action director. Scott Wheeler successfully brings a horror film to the camera that has hints of comedy and cartoon. This movie has a comedic aspect that reminds me a lot of Chuck Jones and Edgar Wright. For example, the donuts, in spite of being murderous and terrifying, have an adorable voice whenever they communicate between each other to kill everyone that is in town. It takes an incredible measure of creativity and good ideas to make a movie where the main antagonist is an army of donuts. This idea, coming from the mind of three writers, is enhanced by the use of successful animation and special effects to make a weird story for a film into a bizarre and genius one. I would totally recommend this movie to those who are starting a career in filmmaking; it is truly inspiring and I assure you will leave the room with a will to start making your own story, because not matter how absurd they might sound, they end up being actually good!

Totally recommended

One of the most incredible things in cinema is that for an hour and a half the problems are not yours. In this movie, we follow Gilby Smalls, a guy with a tremendous amount of bad luck but also an incredible talent to get out of trouble. Fran Kranz gives an impressive comically-skilled performance that allowed me to immerse into the story from the very beginning. Phil Allocco, the director, led the cast marvelously to enhance the story and make it even more entertaining. There is a strong similitude to the movie MANHATTAN, as the main character's neurotic and nervous personality keeps this film dynamically funny and relatable. You will be too busy laughing while trying to figure out how the characters will get out of trouble. Well directed, wonderfully acted, hilariously realistic and entirely recommended.
