Fear the Walking Dead: Here to Help (2019)
Weak Start but a Strong Ending
This episode starts off with lots of action. I personally thought it wasn't very interesting. The dialogue was lousy too. Although, Morgan has redeeming speech at the end of the episode. The end of the episode also hints at a lot of interesting parts of the show that will come in later episodes.
The Walking Dead: Honor (2018)
I Enjoyed It
Personally, I thought that this was The Walking Dead's best episode of season 8. To start off, I liked how they quickly explained what needed explaining at the beginning of the episode. They showed how Carl got bit and they showed how The Saviours escaped. This was great because it cleared everything up before they got into the important stuff.
Carl's last episode was beautifully done. The quick montage of him before the attack on Alexandria was great. It really embodied Carl's selflessness, as he puts others needs in front of his. He continues to be productive until the end. I enjoyed how the montage showed us how horrifying knowing that death is near is. Honestly, The Walking Dead hasn't scared me this much for a while. That was something I thought about all throughout the episode. I felt miserable watching Carl slowly degrade. I thought Carl's death felt more and more depressing throughout the episode. Carl's storyline I would rate separately, and give it a 9.5. (Just my opinion).
Now, onto Carol and Morgan's story. I thought that this was a good storyline. Not amazing. Just good. There were some interesting quotes and exciting action scenes. One thing that brought up questions was when Carol and Morgan took down 5 people on their own, without any cover to hide behind. But other than that, it was good. The ending of this little side story was good. How Benjamin (I think that's his name) killed the Saviour instead of Morgan. All and all, I thought this was a really good episode that showed The Walking Dead can still make us feel after some mediocre episodes.
The Walking Dead: Some Guy (2017)
Very Enjoyable Episode
This episode has a very strong start. I really felt for Ezekiel when I saw this beautiful montage of soldiers saying goodbye to their loved ones. It reminded me of an old war film, it made this small war in an apocalyptic world feel like a big war. This was ended with a beautiful speech by the king himself. I think the slaughtering of Ezekiel's people was really well done and the way he was affected by it was very believable. I enjoyed the scenes with the walker hoard chasing him and the random savior. The random savior who held Ezekiel at gunpoint was a great character and was a really good way to enforce Ezekiel's sadness. I loved the Carol scenes but among all these things I loved, I have some dislikes. The Rick and Daryl car chase scene wasn't amazing but it wasn't bad enough to ruin the episode fortunately. Carol vs the Saviours outside wasn't very good either but I enjoyed the conflict of should I save my friends or get the guns. In the end this was a good episode with a couple mistakes. All and all Ezekiel is becoming a way more relatable character and is now a lot more inserting to watch.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Episode 4 all Over Again
I did not like this movie because even though Disney had enough money for special effects and good actors, they did not use any of it on coming up with new ideas. They had the same story line of episode 4 and then just tried to make it "better." Even though it has been 30 years since episode 6, there have been practically no new inventions. There were still: tie fighters, x wings, storm troopers and so much more. I absolutely hated star killer base because it's just the death star again! Kylo Ren was just a bad Darth Vader in my opinion. Even though I have rated this movie quite low, it's still decent to watch if you don't care about most things I have just listed.
The Walking Dead: Monsters (2017)
I liked the episode.
I really enjoyed this episode. I didn't like the start with the weird transitions of Ezekiel's battles. Basically, I wasn't that excited for the episode as I usually am. Once I got passed that, I loved the scene with walkers rolling down the hill and the battle Rick and Daryl had. My favorite part of this episode is that it sets up what I think is going to be the theme of this season: Everyone is a monster (as the name of the episode implies). Morales makes it very clear that he has changed into a monster and that he knows Rick has to. His point is then proved when Daryl ruthlessly kills him. Later Daryl also kills a Savior that Rick gave his word to let that Savior live. We also see this in Tara and Morgan. It reminds me of season 5 when everyone was like an animal after their horrible experiences. It's similar to this season, but now there are people like Gabriel and Jesus who resist becoming monsters and are trying to help the others do the same but there is a lot of pressure on them. I really like this theme and I hope they keep it going throughout the season. I hope more people start to read between the lines and re-learn to love the show.
