Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes (2019)

Very slow and lots of talking that isnt Ted

I don't care much for documentaries where all the talking is by "experts instead of the subject. The Iceman Killer Richard Kuklinski documentary was excellent, where the interviewer was happy to let the subject be the star. He didn't keep jumping in to tell you what to think. He let the Iceman talk, and you think for yourself.

This is the opposite, with the interviewer on the screen more than the subject himself. It drug on forever before even remotely picking up speed.

In short I was very disappointed in what could have been a fascinating interview. This is one that folks will like or dislike based on whether they want to hear the subject or the host. But for me, it was a bust.

Klondike Trappers (2015– )

An excellent show, and about as real as most reality shows are.

OK, so first off, I think the scenarios are staged and set up to imply constant danger and drama. This is exactly like every other reality show. However if you look past the TV drama staging, you see an incredible group of hard working, independent and determined folks making a living in a world without lots of modern conveniences and services. Staged or not, it is obvious these folks are fit, smart and resourceful. Give it a look and you may be pleasantly surprised.

Ozark (2017–2022)

Has really went downhill fast

This show started out about a mastermind money launderer who was cunning, analytical and practical. Now he is a sniveling crybaby surrounded by the typical Hollywood idea of a housewife.. She is suddenly the powerful brains of the operations. Luckily she (the housewife) is assisted by the powerful female lawyer and a powerful redneck girl who was cleaning rooms in a motel before she suddenly became a crime genius. They are opposed by a powerful female drug queen-pin.

The majority of the show is about extra marital affairs, family drama and how bad the main star can mess things up by being weak, indecisive and naïve.

This show had a lot going for it, but it is now just another clone in the TV world. It has gotten so slow, I paint a room before each show and watch the paint dry during the long boring scenes of which there are plenty.

Santa Clarita Diet (2017–2019)

Typical P/C Garbage, stoners, self indulgence, etc.

This show is one of the worst examples of writers with little talent who fall back on the same old garbage.

Tons of vomit, women who want to party after their married, humans ruining the earth, pot smokers are cool over achievers, nerds can save the day, cops are psychotic bad guys, murder is OK if the guy killed is a jerk, etc, etc.

This is just episode one. The show gets worse too. I wish writers could write and leave the politics out. I also wish they had the talent to fill 30 minutes without having to resort to sex scenes to kill time.

No wonder, no one watches much TV anymore.

Atypical (2017–2021)

How sad they cant leave the sex aspect out of anything.

This started out rock solid, character driven and entertaining. But like always they had to build in a stupid sex angle that has absolutely nothing to do with the premise of the show. We are first treated to a special young man struggling to come to grips with puberty and his autism. The way he does is refreshing and makes you pull for him.

But as always, Hollywood hates a functional happy family and the show soon deteriorates to the common theme of unhappy marriage, cheating and the always present loss of virginity of teens.

Why cant any writers anymore fill a show with plot and topic related content? Have the skills of writers diminished to the point they have nothing to offer but endless affairs? Too bad too. It took what looked like a great show, and turned it into another of the same old garbage on every night.
