Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022)
Wth did these righ raters watch? It wasn't this trash.
This wasn't a Rescue Rangers film -you actually have to have all of them starring for that- it was Bizarro Universe Chip & Dale are given a movie. The voice acting..... only Gadget had her actual actress & the rest were either jarring, distractingly off, or just wrong. I get what they were trying to do, but since the characters have never sounded like that in the 50+ years they've been around it was unsettling more than anything.
Also, this isn't a Bagdasarian production, so why are they in school? Donald Duck cartoons already gave us their background & it had nothing to do with the Rangers setting. It flat wasn't necessary.
This whole film was unnecessary from the over used plot (loosely there, if you squint, I think, not sure it had one), the bad jokes (an actually impressive amount), the actual shriek that left my mouth when I saw Peter (would've been funny in a different setting); basically everything.
Oh. And hooking Gadget & Zipper up just for the sake of drawing so many freaky offspring? Beyond gross. Child me burst into tears, adult me felt nauseated.
Best bit was at the VERY end with Darkwing proclaiming "what a load of malarky!" I agree. Completely. Excuse me while I go binge old Chip'n'Dale shorts & RR on repeate to cleanse myself.
Sherlock Holmes (1954)
I Laughed, I Loved
Howard is a believable Holmes, he carries off an almost absentminded humour in his portrayal of Sherlock. He is second in my book only to Jeremy Brett (except Howard has better hair, rather curly, which I found attractive).
The writing and dialogue was well done and charming. Howard and Crawford play off each other beautifully, and obviously enjoy their roles.
Some of the camera angles in this show are awful, but only add to the comedy (at least to me). It seemed a little too obvious at times that some actors were shot independently of the rest of the scene, and jumped places.
In short I laughed a lot at it all, and loved every minute of it. If you haven't, go buy this show.
