Clever concept? Yes. Watchable? No.

I've read other reviews here; opinions are definitely mixed, with many liking it. I am not one of them.

Is this film a different take on a difficult and much-explored topic? Yes. Is it at times haunting? Yes. Is it effective? For maybe an hour. After that, as others have said, there's no longer a point.

The filmmaker goes to great care to show mundane, daily life. But you already have your own mundane, daily life and don't need to sit through this plotless one. Its concept is far more compelling than its execution (if I may use that word while describing this film). I watched the movie this evening with two friends, and we all rated it a 3/10.

Clever concept? Yes. Watchable? No.

Interesting!

I just watched the film at the recommendation of a friend, and I liked it!

I felt the courtroom scenes played out realistically for the most part, with the possible exception of the prosecutor whose whiny outbursts and badgering of John Doe probably wouldn't have been tolerated by the judge. The public defender was particularly sympathetic, well-acted, and believable.

With a smidge of the "what if you could go back to kill Baby Hitler" moral argument, it is imaginative, enthralling, and--for those capable of it--thought-provoking. To that last point, I did also enjoy the sweet, sweet tears of a couple other reviewers here. Amusing!

A good one

I just rewatched this episode, and I got a number of laughs out of it. Everyone seems at the top of their game. Schultz, Klink, Carter, Newkirk, Burkhalter, and his sister all get great comedic moments. The bit with Carter answering the phone always makes me chuckle.
