The Greatest Showman (2017)
Predictable, lame, ordinary at best.
It feels like you're watching a cartoon, cliches and worn out themes everywhere. Can't get away from childish voices trying to sing - really grating on the nerves.
Belly of the Beast (2003)
Had to laugh...
Should really be titled, "Santa Claus and his magic aikido force-field hands."
It's amazing to me how many people appear to have at least liked this movie to a point - witness the substantial amount of reviews saying, in effect, "Not bad for a Seagal movie," or, "Back to the Seagal we know...."
Wow - I can see nothing but an embarrasment. A horribly cringe-worthy "love scene." Lame plot beyond the bounds of silliness, and a huge. bloated Seagal faking his way through what doesn't really qualify even for "B-movie" status.
Live by Night (2016)
Oh Please....
Good grief - nothing new here, and most of it is a lame effort at retracing the steps done by many an earlier movie. Okay then - "fighting the KKK" ha ha ha very funny, Ben; get a grip. As if....
Lizard Lick Towing (2011)
Pathetic
Repetitive, boring nonsense aimed at those too gullible to know any better. Apparently, there are dozens of people involved in producing the childish fakery that is presented to the viewer, which is amazing as it's the same idiocy over and over.
Anybody that has worked in vehicle repossession cannot, and will not, truthfully defend this sorry, lame show. There is just no excuse. It's an insult to the people of North Carolina, and indeed - to anyone of intelligence that would have the misfortune to see all or part of a 'Lizard Lick Towing' episode.
This is the worst show I have ever seen. Is it the worst show that could ever be? It's certainly a contender.
The Cable Guy (1996)
Low-rated for a reason.
This movie was painful to watch, plain and simple. A ludicrous plot further harmed by the wasting of the talents of the actors.
It reminds me of "The Crossing Guard" with Jack Nicholson, not in premise but in disappointment. Seen that one?
The redemption, if any, of this movie is in that it is not a "black comedy" nor any type of comedy; if anything it is a thought-provoker for the audience, as in "what in the world were they thinking," or "what do they want us to think?"
The direction and editing are sloppy and hard to follow, and the undeniably talented Carrey appears to be trying too hard while Matthew Broderick is irritatingly listless.
Had they all abandoned the pretense of "comedy" and gone for a true "dark drama," then the potential is there, but the result we have in the movie as it was done is in-between everything, and thus it achieves nothing but a waste of time.
