I enjoyed the series and hope it is renewed. Character development and the lack of self awareness who looking at one's self seems to be the main plot line while looking at the arrogance of ignoring Native American history when discussing American history. Some who don't like what they call woke most likely won't like this series that does point out truths about history some like to ignore. The diversity was not forced, but inclusive and is another point of this series. Highly recommend. While at times it does move slowly, it kept my interest throughout the series.

SyFy has made its share of clunkers, some intentionally as satire on the genre of of monster movies, but then there is Megalodon which is just horrible without any attempt at satire. They needed pay a military advisor even a cheap one to avoid their poor depiction of the military. First two bars is the rank of a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy (an O-3). A commander is an O-5 a silver oak leaf. No Lieutenant would be second in command of a ship the size of this one. Second the Admiral is a buffoon with hair so out of regulation and an unknown badge on his uniform hat. At least half of the movie is either the Captain or Admiral making long winded "motivational" speeches. Don't bother with this one.

An Insult to History

Don't rewrite history to make it P.C. by 20th/21st century standards. Too much emphasis on filling squares that didn't exist in 16th century Scotland or England. Mary did not speak with a Scottish accent, her first and primary language was French, she and Elizabeth never met and I doubt either would have had kind words for each other. The producer refusing to make an all white movie about 16th Century Scotland and England is just as insulting as any cultural appropriation of Asian or Black culture and is revisionist at its worst. The film dragged too much and unfortunately will probably influence some people to think people of color had positions of authority in medieval/renaissance Great Britain.

I get it the writer doesn't like the president, but this was not an enjoyable show. It totally pushes credibility out the window and is just more over the top politics. Look I have my issues with the current political climate, but this series instead using subtle plotting to make points, just beats the viewer over the head with a sledge hammer to make a political point - all of these shows would be better served by a half hour format.

I thought the show was very sluggish and lacking in suspense and too much political in your face content for the first three episodes. Episode 4, The Traveler, was much better, hopefully this is a sign that the show may improve. I upgraded my rating from 2 stars to 6 with the hope that the show continues to improve.

These should be half hour episodes, but even that would not help with the lack of suspense. After three episodes of viewing I figured out what the ending would be after the first few minutes of each episode. It appears mainly to be a show to push a political agenda rather than a updated suspense show.

The first thing I noticed that all these sophomores in high school seemed to be in their 20s. This show wants to be a knock off of Twin Peaks almost but doesn't quite make that cut. Too many stereotypical types and sometime too much overacting.

This adaption of Salem's Lot was not needed - it did not improve on the 1979 version and the characters don't seem to fit with the characters from the book at all. The vampire is not close to being scary like in the 1979 version or the book - it was truly an evil entity that was definitely not human not in this version - it talks too much with the lines that its human servant were supposed to speak. Donald Sutherland failed as the human servant to the vampire and did not project the out right evilness of the character in 1970 or the book. This was supposed to be a horror film and it delivers some chills but loses out on the big chill by humanizing the vampire.

AHS is sinking to new lows this season. Ryan Murphy is clueless as to producing a horror series. The acting is terrible. plot line is just embarrassing. I have lost faith in American Horror Story, it uses doesn't create a horrific suspenseful environment just serves a lot of hammy acting.

Poor Adaption of King

I find this to be a very poor adaption of King. One of King's best talents is making believable characters who the reader (or watcher) can somehow identify with easily. The characters in this adaption are not realistic nor can I identify with any of them or really care about any of them. The horror elements of the King novella are missing, the monsters in the mist are gone so this has become more of a soap opera with characters who and poorly drawn. Worst of all this series just drags not excitement, no caring about what the mist is, and it should not have been a 10 segment series. Hopefully it will only last one season and fade away from our memory.

Larry, you stating you are one of 12 people who knew the details is so far off it is amazing you would post that here where you know many people who probably had more access to the information than you would see your review. I was an intelligence analyst assigned to the analysis and reporting office at the headquarters for ESC on Kelly AFB in Texas and helped with follow on analysis of this situation. There were many more than 12 people with access and involvement in this high level of interest situation throughout the U.S. intelligence community. Multiple U.S. intelligence units from around the Pacific and Alaskan theaters participated in the reporting of this incident. It was further reviewed and analyzed by theater and national level intelligence agencies so hundreds of people were involved in the intelligence efforts. So Larry in saying you were one of 12 people with access to the Top Secret information is doubtful, as most of this information was classified higher than Top Secret.
The movie does make a decent attempt at showing how some of the U.S. intelligence gathering efforts work. Politically the movie does reflect the tension that existed between the Soviet Union and U.S. in peacetime intelligence collection efforts.
