sad sad sad money grab
15 September 2022
Holding onto the fan base they created The Wachowskis or more specifically Lana Wachowski really didn't know what the convey during this film.

I, in the 90's, was a great fan of this trilogy and the special effects and cinematography were ground breaking and were something new, this just was visually what we've seen before and the plot was predictable.

What I did appreciate was there was some hope for this script in originality and there was a reflection on the world in its current state with dependency on technology, but I think that either Lana didn't know where she wanted to send this script, or WB executives had too much creative control and chopped and changed too much of the script.

I also appreciated the introduction of Neil Patrick Harris' character and thought that was a good portrayal, I also liked the fact that time wise they were respectful of original characters, and she utilised the modern technology at her disposal.

But the fact still remains this was a very low credit film. It was too long, too boring, too slow and something I really struggled to stay invested in.

If you're gonna to do a reboot, then do it well.

Star Trek: Picard: Farewell (2022)
Season 2, Episode 10
7/10
A decent farewell to a fan fave...
7 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Look, I am not going to advocate for this series or try and convince you to watch it or like it. This was a good swansong to finish out a 30 year story line.

SPOILERS!!

The writers did try their best to a degree, and great to bring Wesley Back and couldn't understand why they "transported" when Wesley just finished saying he could move through space and time? Didn't get that.

The gesture of Q and Picard as they say goodbye, moved me. John Delance i thought really did actually deliver his lines in such a articulate and passionate manner, it was poetry his words and I honestly appreciated that end to that story line.

It was good to explain why Seven didn't enter starfleet and look she may get her command next season and God willing the writers may get a spin off out of it if they do the right thing by Jeri Ryan.

The Rios back story i thought was good that they closed off that.

Orla Brady I really think is an underrated actress, really i think she is brilliant at her part.

Brent Spiner... i Think the end of his story line in this season has set it up for Nicholas Meyer's series to get the greenlight.

But once again again... They just END IT. There was no continuation on, no explanation, no Seven, Raffi or Elnor.. on the bridge, they could of ended it with Seven in command, Raffi as her XO and Elnor as a cadet on the bridge of the stargazer.

This season, had so many down sides, and these two seasons really could of been rewritten as 2h 30min movies and done REALLY WELL, but instead they insist on dragging it out over 10 weeks and having so many down sides that they loose viewership and fanbase over it.

I really feel like this season, and the last, were both seasons to finish up the loose ends of the Picard story arc left open by the TNG writers.

I really hope Season 3 finishes it and does it in a manner befitting to the Original TNG series and we dont have these stupid over acting, under explained, political B/S we've seen over the last 2 seasons and 4 with STDISCO.

A decent film
29 January 2022
Normally when you get as many talented actors in a room on Netflix film you end up with something that mildly resembles a film but it's rubbish....

This is a film that has a good message. It really is relevant, it is current, it actually talks about climate change and how the rich just don't care and how greed is influencing political policymakers and destroying our futures...

I didn't think I'd enjoy this but it was a great film. Both Leo and Jen played the leads great, meryl played the moronic half whit president bowing down to corporate greed well, (she had a lot of reference material).... Yeah all around a solid 8/10.

Rubbish....
25 December 2021
Really, the only the way this rubbish is going to get off the air is if we stop watching it and prove to Paramount that Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin and Michelle Paradise have no business running Star Trek.

Taking a weak story arc to begin with then spreading it over 10 episodes is woeful.

The acting of these young PC and Token characters to appease the small number socialists amongst the greater Star Trek franchise is just an embarrassment to said franchise.

Jonathan Frakes tried his hardest to make this decent and star trek, but even he couldn't save this very tired and weak story/script.

The fact they've clearly ripped off the A. I. of "zora" from the Marvel Franchise is BS, the ship despite being in the 32nd Century still has the same food dispensers from the first 2 seasons? The whispering, the bleeding whispering!

The problem is, we are loyal fans of the franchise. This franchise has gotten a lot of us through hell and high waters, thru the troubles of life, it has been our escape and we keep coming back to the series, to give it a chance cause thats who we are as fans. Unfortunately the EP's of the show dont see us, they just want new fans, they want fans that will spend money, they want to incorporate values and stories that aren't anything remotely associated with Star Trek.

I could go on, but this series has so many different plot holes, rubbish stories, hammy acting, and a lack of maturity and identity. Yes, it took TNG, DS9 etc, to get into S3 and find their feet.... Here we are S4 im still trying to work out what this series is about.

Cringeworthy
13 December 2021
Simply I couldn't get through this episode, I just couldn't. The writing is just pathetic and more soapy than sci-fi.

Positive points the acting of saru and Vulcan president and interaction is good.

Obvious rip off of the TNG Ep. The Final Mission with star fleet cadets.

Just dump it and stop wasting money.

What junk!
9 November 2021
I mean there wasn't even a hint of a smile on my face. Nothing this guy says is funny, its just plain mean and prepboy humor of a man, who is clearly a narcissist and surrounded by "yes men" cause God only knows that his opinion of women is if theyre out of the kitchen, they should be arrested, and political a** kissing of Trump! This is just another whinge, and moan about how the world is going to hell and going to end up with the reincarnation of Marx to install Socialism and destroy what tiny little bit of freedom america has left.

Geeze i wish americans would just actually type "whats the world like beyond the american boarder?" and you can see, that we are all living a pretty free life and really you guys have more freedoms then you know what to do with.

Utter trash, garbage, downright stupid POS. Murdoch is proud of his jump into late night talk shows!

Dont waste your time cause if you laugh at these jokes, don't try and stand up or inhale cause simply put you'll just pass out cause your brain can't do two things at once.

Writing 9/10 Acting 9/10 Directing 10/10

It really is an episode that shows us that no matter what a trial by jury and within the bounds of the law need to be upheld.

One of the first eps that frakes directed and he doesn't disappoint. Again Sir Patrick delivering one of his monologues in the way only a Shakespearean actor can deliver it.

You won't see the modern day ST writers pulling episodes like this out.

HONEST TO GOD!!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!
26 December 2020
Seriously! Who writes this BS! Seriously! Is this what Alex Kurtzman calls good TV? He is a moron and the shows writers are just as bad! I skipped through this episode, the acting was hammy, the storyline was just stupid! More money once again went into VFX and Post then it did into hiring a decent writing team! Alex Kurtzman is such an arrogant fool to think this is good TV. It's not, its crap! Don't waste your time watching this episode. It's not Star Trek, its just simply not Star Trek. This is NOT WHAT GENE PENNED FOR STAR TREK! Why is it with a budget of $1m per ep TNG was able to pull off 26 eps a season for 7 seasons and have a few bad eggs, yet CBS keeps renewing this CRAP!

Frakes was the saving grace
12 December 2020
If it wasn't for frakes directing this episode it would of been a 1/10. Such a dull, lifeless, boring story and such week acting simply cause the story and script was weak. Didn't understand the point.... this episode was a filler cause they didn't know what else to write.

Great feel good film....
12 December 2020
This was a great feel good film. After days of being bed ridden being sick I actually felt better after watching this film. Music really does heal the soul plus the story was one that very applicable to today's youth and I feel will give those struggling with their voice and fear to step up and not feel alone. The acting was a bit hammy but when you think about it they're playing Broadway stars so they're over acting it was well done. A little slow in one or two places but nothing to write home about. Highly recommend!

Unification Part 3 this is not...
27 November 2020
Whilst this episode was not without merit in certain parts, TNG Unification was about two fractured worlds reuniting for the greater good and it was a good story told over 80mins of TV, this was 80mins jammed into 20mins with another 2 story arcs sitting In there for good measure. This season started weak, started getting good now it's gone down by the s**ter. Look the Vulcan president played her part brilliantly! I think the interaction between her and Saru was a highlight of the ep, but no these seasonal story arcs aren't doing it so far for me and you'd think after a dismal season 1 and a fair season 2 that they'd have it downpat. They need to hire writers that work collectively together to write seasonal arcs or go to episodic stories. Unfortunately CBS and Secret Hideout spend soooo much damn money on hammy VFX and post production they don't have the money to spend on decent writers.

weak weak weak episode.
27 November 2020
I thought this series was going in a new direction but alas it's just back to the same story line and motion of the past two seasons. Same predicable story line. Why is Michael the be all and end all? This series really needs to take another turn in the right to direction! Writers! Stop writing this rubbish!!!

A little slow, but just finally felt right...
6 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Whilst I've enjoyed seeing Picard back on the screen, I've found this long story version of Trek really tiresome and haven't overly enjoyed the storyline, saying that.... this episode just made me feel good, it was good to see them all together again and the writers "kinda" keep the original character traits from TNG while adding to their stories unlike what they did with Seven. All in all, this episode was well put together.

Never gets old

This show just is as good 20+ Years after it was on TV. It is a show that while it's silly is also a show that makes you feel good from the jokes and makes you think from the lessons it teaches about life and communication. As an adult I find it more funny then I did when I was a kid! Highly recommend!!
