The Bear (2022)
A beautiful anxiety attack
A beautiful anxiety attack that only those who have relied on the service industry for their income would understand. The show nailed it the waves of panic the build up the show must go on the show itself - that's the service industry it's just like theater lights are up cameras are on we are rolling. Sometimes the rolling without a net times it's all improv or either way you're in the spotlight and you're not getting out of spotlight until the wave goes down. Great writing, great acting catches everything very well. Very refreshing to see such quality work. I cannot believe how watching a show my anxiety levels build write up and then as it ends just roll into the next one waiting for the next wave to hit me. Pretty cool.
Slow Horses (2022)
Gary Oldham is Brilliant
I give it a 10 for Gary oldham alone. He is so freaking brilliant if you don't watch the show just for that alone you're missing out. This guy is the definition of what every good actor should be. I am too naïve in this craft to even speak about it but he is freaking brilliant. Yes this is Tinker tailor soldier spy meets 21 Jump Street And sometimes it has its hiccups but they are minor and the show carrie's on logically. The plot is well thought out and the dialogue well written. The cast is very good and you'll be constantly wondering what's happening next thinking that it's over only to be reprised again. Perhaps similar in vain to the old series 24 but again or British and updated. Disappointed at season one is over already.
Clifton Hill (2019)
Netflix is desperate for content
B movie soundtrack as is everything else. It is clear this is first role ever for some actors. Plot is bad pulp fiction. There is no way there was a budget for sound in this one. Maybe it was a college project that somehow was good enough for sale.
Nightmare Alley (2021)
Why I did 2 and 1/2 hours feel like five?
There are a couple of really great reviews that some thing up better than I have the patience to write at this hour. In short I think you will enjoy this film, and a great cast. Did it feel like you were watching a movie from the 30s or 40s? Yes . And it was a pretty good movie, could've been better- a little bit yes.
Stay Close (2021)
Show me the bridge
Show us the frickin' green bridge again. Several points where one says 'stupid' but can't mention here else give away plot. I have to keep typing words in order to make this a long enough critique. But this movie really does not deserve that long of a critique if I go into every detail about why this is bad then I'll give away the plot and I can't do with a plot in this critique so therefore I'm just gonna keep on saying words until I make the word count. So I'm hoping right now that this last sentence means the word count and that people understand that my most frustration is from the Darren green bridge I mean really how many times do we have to see the freaking green bridge.
Between Two Ferns: The Movie (2019)
Hehehehe
7 ? Hehehehe. Maybe it's the wine but Hehehehe. No it's all the wine. This review is zero help.
Django Unchained (2012)
So ridiculously verbiose
God Tarantino you're arrogant. How does this guy keep getting great reviews the stupidity of his films are untouchable. Films not even in the realm of reality. Pulp fiction was cool because I could picture those guys actually speaking the way they did. Django there's no way in heck. Don't get me started and how dumb the hateful eight was.
Filmworker (2017)
Love to rally learn what makes things happen?
Personally I love autobiographies or documentaries where I can really learn about the details this film fulfills that and more. It gives you an incredible look Into the unrelenting work effort of a dedicated soul. Leon is a truly amazing person and I love the behind the scenes footage of all the great movies. I wonder if Kubrick ever knew how lucky he was to have such dedicated help. I ended the movie exhausted .
The Angel (2018)
That's the way I like it - is 1975
Good God please try not to mix 1967-68 psychedelic rock and roll with KC and the sunshine band I mean nothing wrong with that musicall but historical epic failure for movie production. Which of your millennials did the research and and which one of you idiots in charge agreed to put that in and scene that supposed to take place in 1970?
Den of Thieves (2018)
You don't have enough testosterone
Before you even think of renting this movie I need you to stand up and go to the mirror and really look at yourself. Face the facts you simply do not have enough testosterone to watch this movie. You are worthless and weak maybe after a few weeks in prison in the gym and not shaving and some tattoos maybe then you'll have enough testosterone to watch the trailer but let's face the fact you'll never have enough to watch the entire movie
Red Sparrow (2018)
I dare somebody to try to tell me the plot of this
I dare somebody to try to tell me the plot of this - bonus points if you can explain it in the less time than it took to watch the movie.
