Weak Direction & Writing!
10 December 2019
The film came out on Netflix the other day and somehow I watched it, even though I knew that the film was not taken well by the audience. So after watching it, I just want to say the film suffered only because of it's direction and writing even though the motive was good, it seemed that they had a great conceptual blueprint of the film in mind but somehow failed to execute. The film was more about style and lacked substance. It could have been shorter too, the film was overly stretched. There was no character development, and although the film had great it failed. Even Prabhas failed to recreate the magic that he did in Baahubali franchise. The only good performance in the film was by Neil Nitin Mukesh and Chunky Pandey, rest of them were just there nothing more. The music was also not up to mark, it could have been a lot better.

Lastly if only they had shorten the film, and slowly developed the characters without rushing, with a good set of writing and ended the movie in a cliffhanger. The film could have made itself into a franchise like Baahubali. It would have been a success.

Phillauri (2017)

Average Love story with a fresh concept!
26 March 2017
Phillauri is Anushka Sharma's second movie as a producer after NH10 and this time she has ventured into the genre of romantic comedy.

While there are many Bollywood movies consisting of love stories, Phillauri is a movie you don't get to see everyday. Although the story of the movie was not new, the concept of the movie was something fresh and people were eager to watch the movie right after seeing the trailer. Phillauri's story is an average story but the way the story was set up was new. Anvita Dutt has written the story and screenplay of the movie and she has done a really commendable job. Anshai Lal as a debutant director has done a job worth praising.

The cast of Phillauri consist of Anushka Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh, Suraj Sharma and Mehreen Pirzada. Anushka Sharma's performance as a ghost and a long lost lover was quite heartwarming and lovely to watch. Suraj Sharma's performance as a confused NRI was quite fun to watch although he was lacking a bit of depth in the emotional side, Mehreen Pirzada's performance as his lover was quite impressive. While all the cast members did their job wonderfully, it is Diljit Dosanjh who steals the show, Diljit handled his role quite sincerely and weaved his character brilliantly in the movie.

The music is probably the best part of the movie. The music has its own uniqueness and this kind of music is rare to find in any Bollywood movie nowadays. The background scores by Samir Uddin and the songs by Shashwat Sachdev & Jasleen Royal were wonderfully composed which sincerely sticks to the theme of the movie.

The VFX and editing was very good and impressive, the cinematography was quite impressive as well.

The only downside of the movie was that it was progressing in a very slow pace and it gets slower in the second half. Certain scenes looked stretched, certain scenes could have also been avoided and more elements could have been added to the story instead.

Although the progression of the story was slow, the ending of the movie was totally unexpected, it was also quite quick owing to the fact that the movie was slow, but then again the ending was quite satisfying and truly concludes the whole movie.

Conclusion-

Although Phillauri is your average love story, it has been beautifully weaved with a new concept. The progression of the movie was slow but the performances of the cast makes you forget about the slow pacing. In short, it is a heartwarming film about love which will truly entertain you and won't make you disappointed.

Logan (2017)

The Best Superhero movie!
21 March 2017
When the trailer of Logan came out, it was very much clear that this movie will not only be creating records but also be a movie that will forever remain in everyone's heart.

We all love superhero movies, but something about Logan made us love it even more. Director James Mangold's unique approach made the movie a memorable experience.

Logan is a movie where you simply can't find anything wrong, whether it is the story, the performance or direction. Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart were both amazing in this movie, as for Dafne Keen, she did such a terrific job that I was left with my mouth wide open! Same goes for the rest of the cast, all of them did a spectacular job!

As a comic book reader and a fan of Wolverine. This movie truly satisfied me. Logan in my opinion is the best movie to come out in 2017 and it will probably go down in history as one of the best made superhero film ever.

High Expectations but totally Disappointed!
19 March 2017
Iam a very big fan of the Assassin's Creed game series and I was looking forward to watch this movie since the day it was announced.

However after watching the movie I was quite disappointed. The movie in my opinion failed to show the true essence of the Assassin's Creed, you don't actually feel anything about the movie, the plot was not only horrible but also very complex and you don't get to understand everything it tries to tell you. In case of the characters in the movie, you don't get to connect with any one of them and you feel empty and that something is missing.

The action sequences were decent, while VFX and CGI were not up to the mark

Music was also not good as expected. The movie if compared with the game franchise, failed to deliver the kind of music that Assassin's Creed deserved. Whereas the game franchise had one of the best music the movie doesn't have decent music apart from those loud soundtracks which did not even fit the tone of the movie.

The only good thing about the whole movie was the performance of the cast and beautiful cinematography.

Conclusion -

The movie failed to cater the needs of the fans of the AC series. While in the game you remember the adventures of Altair, Ezio and even Desmond like a legendary tale, this movie gives you nothing but a simple plot with a complex treatment that makes it forgettable after you have finished watching it.
