My little boy is 3 and asks to watch this loads. It's got a nice, easy to follow storyline that seems exciting for younger viewers! Love the UK version especially, the voices are lovely. I honestly don't understand the negative reviews this little film and All Engines Go has. Thomas came out decades ago and was bound to go through changes and different iterations! This is great for younger viewers and was never meant to replace the old Thomas... Nor was it created for adults! To be honest original Thomas was a bit odd to me as a child, but my little boy likes both this version and the old ones.

Cute little revival for younger kids

I don't understand the negative reviews of this show. To me it's just a simplified animation for younger viewers. It's got nice storylines and some cute little songs. My son adores this show. We particularly like the version with the British accents. It's not too loud, not too complicated and genuinely like the little adventure stories.
I think a lot of the negative reviews seem to be from adults who want to enjoy it as much as they enjoyed the originals as children... But I don't think that's a fair way to review it as you're not a child anymore and times change! My little boy just turned 3 and has watched these over and over again and doesn't get bored of them... And we've spent loads on the merchandise for him!
To me they've really got it right, particularly for the toddler+ age group!
