One Piece: Wan pîsu: Luffy's Peak: Attained! Gear Fifth (2023)
Great episode, but not even close to the peak of the series
Let me start with this - I absolutely love One Piece. It has been my favorite series from 30 episodes in and has taken over my life. With that being said, I gotta be realistic. With the promotion it got and the hype around it, this episode was a slight disappointment. Repeated animation over and over was not it. We saw the same scenes repeated 5-6 times, and even though they were really well animated, it kind of kills your excitement when you have to watch the same stuff for 6 minutes. This episode, in my opinion, doesn't come close to Zoro's or Sanji's fight vs King/Queen, Luffy v Sanji, "he laughed" episode, 1015, 1017 etc. To rate it a 10/10 I feel like I would be doing the series a disservice because we know what Toei is capable of and they can do a lot better than this. With that being said, I loved the part with 5 elders and the animation the first time around is sick and another level. But people expected this to be the greatest episode of all time, and we didn't get anything close to that in my opinion. I'm sure the actual fight episodes will be some of the best of the series, so I'm really looking forward to it.
One Piece: Wan pîsu: Nami Dai Pinch! Zombie Yashiki to Toumei Ningen (2008)
Fan service episode 10/10
Nami swan supremacy. I'm only at minute 11 of the episode and it's already a 10/10. Usopp thanked her for all of us lmao. That invisible man was about to act up, Sanji would have been out of his mind. I like how Oda knows what the fans want. Man of culture I see.
Kimetsu no Yaiba: Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui (2021)
Go ahead and have a blast!
I was just laying in my bed, watching the new arc starting episode. It was super emotional and stuff. Then I'm like "That episode is super good, must be finishing up soon right?" NO. I was 30 minutes in and had 15 minutes left. My first thought? The creators are too nice to us. This length of an episode, with this level of animation and great writing should be illegal. But then, it is the animation of the decade, and it proves it day in and day out. Can't wait to watch more of what's to come!
Hunter x Hunter: This Person × and × This Moment (2014)
Unexpected x And x Beautiful
Meruem vs Gon fight seemed inevitable. Until it wasn't. After Meruem survived in a fight against Netero, we all "knew" what was going to happen next. Until we didn't. This is a much, much better and a more beautiful ending than I could've imagined. Meruem, post Netero's death, started being less of an insect and more of a human, just to understand the depth of the feelings he had for Komugi. The chairman had it all wrong, and so did all of us. Again, what a beautiful episode. Character development is second to none. Even side characters are insanely well developed. Like all of them, not a single one left out. I had my doubts about the Chimera Ant Arc, but there's a reason it's so beloved and I see why.
Netero: At the end of the day, he's still part ant.
Meruem: At the end of the arc, I'm still full human.
Hunter x Hunter: Light X and X Darkness (2013)
A rollercoaster of emotions
I don't even know what to say, I'm speechless.
The hope Gon gave me when he said that Kite is still alive and hiding, then the heartbreak in the end... 85 episodes in and Killua keeps confirming why he's been my favorite character from the episode where he got introduced till now. Love the friendship between the two, it makes this show even more special (I'm also a fan of Naruto, so it's not hard to read between the lines xD).
Kite was a dope character man, really wish I could've seen more of him because he was on another level compared to previously introduced Hunters. And Ging better show up soon, like where are you at my guy? His student got killed and his son is in danger and he's nowhere to be found.
Anyways, that ending was a shock. Didn't expect to get such a brutal arc after a couple of amazing, but not so dangerous for main character arcs. Super entertaining, and I have no doubt it will continue this way.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations: Aibô (2021)
Farewell
Man, I am going to miss Kurama. What a character development, from a demon fox to a real friend ready to die just to help Naruto. Such a well written and emotional episode. I had this spoiled to me before but when you know the spoiler and the scene makes you cry, that's when you know you're watching an amazing show.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations: Musume to ichaicha dai sakusen (2019)
What we all wanted to see
Finally, we get to see Naruto spend time with Hima and Boruto. All these holiday episodes were so wholesome. You can clearly see Sasuke softening up, which is not bad after all that happened. Also, moments where he's getting advice from Kakashi and trying to apply it while he's talking to Sarada were hilarious. Overall, I'm excited to see which direction this show takes. It's been very enjoyable so far.
Bodyguard (2018)
Perfect Season 1
Exactly at the pace it's supposed to be, thrilling, a bunch of twists and turns, I don't know how more people aren't talking about this. One of the most underrated/not well known series on Netflix. Awesome!!
Palm Springs (2020)
What would you do if you lived the same day over and over again?
Answer is: Most people already do. You wake up in the morning, go to a job, get back home, hang out with your family, maybe do something in between and go to sleep.
Living one day over and over is one movie concept that gets used every once in a while, and usually those movies are very enjoyable to watch. Why? It's a mix of "how are they going to get out of this", character development and finding new ways to enjoy life. Palm Springs is similar to Groundhog Day because of the repeating days concept, but they don't have much else in common. If you like movies like About Time, Groundhog Day or even Edge Of Tomorrow, this is a movie for you. It is really a great combination of romance, comedy and sci-fi and if you like a good laugh and a good romantic story, I would definitely recommend it. Really well done by Hulu, everything from acting to directing was done professionally and superbly. Netflix/Hulu movies have not been famous so far for their cinematic/entertainment quality so I was really surprised by Palm Springs.
Drive (2011)
Huge Pontential turned into a Big Messup
First 55 minutes of this movie was kind of slow, but I didn't mind it ne cause it seemed like it was going somewhere. But then the movie just turned into a mess. Bad action, unnecessary skull breaks, just too extra and no build-up. It's a shame because I had high hopes for this movie. And this is coming from a guy who has never given below an 8 rating to a movie. And the only reason I'm giving this a 6 is because of the first half of the movie.
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019)
Tom Hanks at his best
This movie is so amazing. Nothing less than expected from Tom Hanks. In this movie we get to see a different Tom Hanks, and I really think this is the closest character to Tom himself. You can't play a character this well without you being an amazing person yourself. Beautiful movie to watch from the beginning till the end, so many powerful quotes, moments and really makes you want to be a better person. It really is A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood!
