Nirvanna the Band the Show (2016– )

Im really starting to like this show more and more. Very funny.

This show is relatively new, and airs on Viceland. I just finished watching episode 3, and was laughing out loud throughout. They make references to countless movies and TV shows in each episode. Picking on old NBC TV ad campaigns like their "must see TV" from years ago in episode 2, to Staying up on coffee for a day or two and trying to figure out why they can't sleep in a Usual Suspects memory recall fashion in episode 3. This show is loaded with references, literally nothing is sacred, and I love it. It is unique, in that it separates itself as being original.

The characters(also the creators and actors of this show) are self aware in the show, its part script, part hidden camera with real unsuspecting people involved, and I'm guessing part improv. Really clever, one of the only comedy shows I actually look forward to watching right now. Hope more people catch on. I think it has the potential of garnering a real following.

Legion (2017–2019)

Unexpectedly good, Beautifully crafted!

I mostly ignored all the ads for this show and though it looked cool I was already passing it off as another mutant comic show. I wasn't really planning on watching it not knowing its air date and all I just happened to catch tonight's premiere out of boredom and curiosity. The feeling almost immediately was that this is a high quality show, and the premiere was akin to watching a good movie. The visuals are quite good and the filming and story line are all well thought out in my opinion. I'm a big fan of Aubrey Plaza and was pleasantly surprised to see her here, nice bonus. To sum up, this show is good! a nice blend of psychology, awesome special effects, some good acting and a well written plot. I am not saying its groundbreaking but far better than a lot of the comic based shows airing on TV today. Already hit the record series button on my DVR. And having just watched Split the other day this is a great continuation of that type of narrative. Definitely a show I would recommend. Hope it can stay this good. Enjoy :) BTW I watched it twice from start to finish, back to back. That good!
