Underrated way to feel sad
3 November 2018
I found this film quite depressing rather than funny. It sort of gives you a lonely feeling while you're watching, as the protagonist documents his sad everyday life. The moments when David is with his girlfriend Penny, it feels very real; so real that it's scary as you witness their relationship fall apart due to David's narcissism. Definitely an underrated film worth checking out. It contains one of the longest monologues I've ever heard and is sort of educational in a way.

an underwhelming artsy acid trip
2 April 2018
Many would say Belladonna of Sadness is unique and a masterful work of art. Although they're not wrong about it being an artsy cinematic masterpiece, i'd say most of the time it's very underwhelming and unnessarily long for what it is. This film is flooded with long acidy trip-esqe visuals that only make the film boring and tasteless. It's overrated for what it's said to be.

An underrated and interesting religious experience
13 June 2017
This has to be one of the most interesting documentaries I've seen in recent years. Very slow paced though. If you can handle long takes of people singing and bashing on bells, this is the movie for you. If you take interest in Russian culture, this is the movie for you. And of course if you are religious (specifically Christian) this is the movie for you.

I'd say this is one of Werner Herzog underrated and overlooked works. Definitely check this one out.
