Mother's Day (2005)
Good for such a low budget production
Honestly, this was a super touching doc that tugged my tear ducts. For a crew with little to no money on this thing, it looks damn good and really polished and professional looking. To those who put their effort into this film I say: Good job! Great choice of music too, I must say. There are subtitles, not throughout the whole thing, but where they are necessary. I really liked how sensitive the doc is towards the unfortunate family... it's a really complex and tough subject to deal with, but this doc tackles it admirably. I recommend you seek this one out, it is well worth your time. It is currently circulating around the film festival market so check those out, you'll surely find this wonderful 10 minute piece of (digital) film.
The Wicker Man (2006)
A very bad movies
This "film" was terrible. It tries so hard to be scary but you'll end up laughing like there's no tomorrow. Not to mention the ridiculous lines. From such masterpieces as "Killing me won't bring back your goddamn honey!" to "Ahh my legs!" (or of it's Unrated, "Ahh, my eyes!"), or the scenes of Nic Cage running around karate kicking and punching women in a bear outfit, the one just doesn't let up, nevermind the ridiculous story and the fact that it makes zero sense. How the director would let the bad guys win no matter how horrible they are, I don't know, but you'll leave with nothing but a sense of "damn, that's 5 bucks i'm never getting back." Avoid like the bubonic plague.

It was pretty groovy
Well, I live in Iceland although I'm not Icelandic, anyways this movie was pretty cool but none of thats tuff would happen up here. But, as a film, it's very entertaining and it has all sorts of cool stuff in there. The acting sucked, though, pretty painful at time. But since it's all about the visuals, it's all good. You can easily overlook the crappy acting. If you wish to catch this flick. Hmm... I suggest Showcase, a Canadian channel. I know it's played on that channel a few times so your bound to catch it. I don't know if there'll ever be a DVD release, which is a shame. There should be more Icelandic films out there.
