Heartwarming film which shows realistic feelings for a couple
9 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Ol Parker's film Imagine me and you in my opinion deserves way more recognition. The wonderful story of Rachel and Luce's hidden love for each other showed the true meaning of love. Rachel is set for her big day with Heck until she catches the eye Luce (the flower arranger for her wedding). It is a love a first sight for Rachel and also an awakening that she is marrying the wrong person.

The script writing is brilliantly developed as the audience can see a real love connection between the pair. The dialogue also includes humour which makes the audience even more intrigued to the funny side of love.

I love the way Parker presented Rachel as unsure about her sexuality or who she should be with - it is an accurate representation of someone questioning things. Also Piper Perabo's acting truly brought the character to life. The innocence of all the characters through out makes this movie even more memorising as we can see that the main theme throughout is love and that it can simply not be stopped. I also have to praise Matthew Good for portraying Heck with such humour and a caring nature and for once the husband not being the antagonist.

What I also loved about the film was that it approached homosexuality in a realistic state by creating characters who were accepting of the two even Heck was supportive in letting Rachel go because it wasn't him who made her happy. The fact that Luce was open about her sexuality showed the audience how it should be in the real world.

Overall the realism of the film gained its approval from me with its easy to love characters and its romantic dialogue, Imagine me and you is definitely one to watch if your genre is Rom-com.

Dragging story line
9 January 2017
First of all, the story line was non existing. I didn't see the point of the film until 9/11 occurred. All I witnessed were bad representations of stereotypes, bad acting and you could say offensive characters. We'll start with that fact that only one person could act and that was Renu Setna who played Khalid (the father). He portrayed a good example of a traditional Muslim father and for that I have to give him credit. Although I have read that Archie Panjabi is a wonderful actress I did not see this the main point being her accent was horrendous. Not even to mention Steve Jackson's (John) diabolic performance - he can not act to save his life.

Also I have to say that the fact the scene of this poor elderly woman not realising the cameras helping the Muslim lady being discriminated was left in to draw the audience - shows how bad the rest of the screen writing was.
