House of the Dragon: A Son for a Son (2024)
Season Premier! B&C galore!
1. A season premier that was setting context that was wholly unnecessary, like 4 minutes of Corlys Velaryon talking about a ship that's broken and a knife that's delayed. Did we really need that? Did we really need Lord Larys talking about disloyal staff and his new selection? We already know his character personality from season 1.

2. Blood and Cheese? More like Boring and Confusing, the way this absolutely game-changing moment has been reduced to a misunderstanding and a happenstance. The event that was similar in gravity and consequence as Vhagar killing Lucerys, was given mere seconds on the screen, with a limp background track, and rather off script from the book.

3. Alicent took a bath by herself? Let's give that 3 whole minutes!
+1 for randomness
Weak start to the new series, hopefully better episodes coming up!
Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities: The Viewing (2022)
Incredib-
-ly heartbreaking to see a beautiful setup to a story with such varied background and potential, broken apart in 10 minutes by an alien creature of no introduction, context, or causation, killing off the characters and take a sewage shortcut into a city.
Why were the guests chosen? Who was Hector? What is Dr. Zahra's deal? Was this the first time guests were called here? Why did Lassiter not die and got absorbed instead?
Bottom tier story writing, cheap and easy scary bit added abruptly and unnecessarily, causing more nausea with the squelching than actual terror; Netflix really scraped the bottom of the barrel with this one.
The Sandman: The Sound of Her Wings (2022)
Impeccable!
A break from the main plot never felt so welcome, an absolutely beautiful take on immortality, that started as a drunk jest, and ended as a rather oddly sweet friendship. We see a side of Dream that we haven't yet in his character development, who knew he was such a softie.
We see the highs and lows of man, and what it takes to truly be immortal, and the tradeoffs one would have to make,
Additionally, we see old Willy in his youth, and the background to the Constantine plot line. All in all, delicious.
Ozark: Sanctified (2022)
Chilling end to Part 1
I dont think I'll ever be able to not compare portrayal of anger in any series/movie to Ruth's delivery at the Byrde residence. The show has been consistent with killing off key characters at the end of every season, but this one hurt more than any of the previous 3.
A beautiful culmination of storylines, this is truly one of the greatest tv series I've seen.
