Suck (2009)
Don't Listen to the Haters This is Cult gold!
After Reading the reviews thus far I have heard acclaim for Malcolm that are really the biggest mistake I found in the list. McDowell's Lackluster acting is the only real downer of this gem. The action in the movie is meant to be slow from the start, the band suffers what most bands do. They can't find a fan base and can't build their desires to make that happen, that is until Dimitri shows up and makes a mountain out of a mole hill. "Jennifer" starts off as a new vampire with needs. She needs blood and she needs to hide the bodies. "Hugo" Serves up a nice "Renfield" moment or two, and then things start to come together for the band. Their Sleaze-ball Manager leaves them high and dry, and the hunger for blood builds a relationship that had failed once before.
There is soft humor with great goth metal and some nerd core, and some slapstick. There is nothing lacking in the story and it grows well and blooms into a full on feast of funny. Mostly punctuated with great roles filled with some of the best rockers and rollers. I mean how often do you get to satisfyingly smirk at the death of Moby or Henry Rollins? Don't pass this up cult movie fans! This is a must see and remember for life's little special rules. "Always wear a condom, and never trust a vampire."
Paranormal Activity (2007)
I am two hours older.
I can tell a horror story to you it begins with a duped and placated audience that has paid 10 to 25 bucks to sit through this slow moving poorly developed piece of relentless fodder. The characters are one dimensional, no real growth of any kind. The "Scare" of this film is the fact that there are reviews telling you it is "Scary". A true believer in shaky-cam filming does not have to be shown the cheap theatrics of wire tech "special" (as in education) effects. this may not be a politically correct statement but come on! This is community college level film and less than high school writing. Where acting is done by the audience and not the film actors.
You duped me into watching this film on line. Glad I only spent my time watching it.
A Midsummer Night's Dream (1982)
Truly great!
This representation of the play is by far the best I have witnessed. The direction and delivery is perfect and makes for a very hilarious play indeed. My only sorrow is that this one play has never been given it's due A & E delivered this to libraries in VHS form a two tape set it was the first video I had ever "Checked Out" and had to pay a fine for it. This needs a DVD or blue ray release if not for the profit value at least for my children to see it performed the way it was intended and without editing! Come one A&E Surprise us! Hmm I guess I didn't realize I could get that all out in so short a piece of Writing. OK! Fine! I will continue... I was the Person that submitted Mr. Lewis' role as it was not added to the list. Now I must say that his role was short and had no lines but he was there nonetheless. I need to get this version and wish it was available. Does anyone have an idea of how we can arrange this? I would hate to have to torrent search for this and end up with a bad copy. My children deserve more. The artists involved in this play should stand up and demand it.
