Take Me Home: The John Denver Story (2000)
The Best John Denver Bio Film Available
This is a tough review to write because I love the subject matter, but the film screams low budget. Even with the obvious budgetary constraints I don't understand why the story itself had to be so inaccurate. His autobiography is widely available and should have been used as the framework for the screenplay. So why am I still giving it seven stars? Three reasons; they used the actual John Denver tracks which are beautiful and perfect, the actor they had playing John did look a lot like him, and most importantly, this is all we have, no one else has made a biographical movie about one of the greatest musical artists of the twentieth century.
Go! (2020)
If you like go karts you'll love Go Karts
This is by far the best go kart movie I have ever seen. The relationships that are formed around karting are heartwarming meaningful. There are a lot of go karts. If you like go karts you will love Go Karts.
The Polar Express (2004)
A One Way Ticket to a Dark and Disturbing Place
This movie was like a nightmare from the beginning to the end. Scary for kids and disturbing for parents. If you love your children and want them to sleep at night, do not expose them to this horrifying movie. It has nothing to do with the true meaning of Christmas. It has nothing to do with anything good. It is an endless string of frustrating situations and frightening images. The only redeeming thing in the movie is the train itself, but there are few times where you really get to see it. Ever have that horrible nightmare where you're running from something terrible and you're not gaining any ground? Ever dream that you need to reach out just a few inches to save your life? These terrible feelings of frustration are visited upon you repeatedly throughout this awful film.
