Taking Chance (2009)
Emotional but worth every tear
The honor and respect with which Chance's remains are treated all along the way from Iraq to his home is awe inspiring. Starting with the mortuary attendants in Iraq who show such tenderness as they wash and dress him, to the airline crews who salute him, to Lt. Col. Strobl who chooses to spend the night in a hangar with Chance rather than in the comfort of a motel room, this entire film is awesome. I've watched it 3 times and cry every time. This film is a must see!! I cannot recommend it highly enough and I firmly believe that it should be shown in every high school in the US!!
Zoo (2015)
Fascinating and yet frequently confusing.
I thoroughly enjoyed the 1st 2 seasons; then came season 3 which totally confused me. To make matters worse, the ending left things (especially the audience) hanging! They really need to do one more season to tie up the loose ends and resolve all unresolved situations. For a series based on a James Patterson book, I expected better than I got. I'd recommend it if you don't mind being left hanging in so many ways, Otherwise, I'd wait for another season or sequel to air. Also, much of what was confusing with name changes, supposedly dead people found to be alive, after all, and other similar situations. I enjoyed what I saw, but the lack of completion drove me nuts!!
Crossing Lines (2013)
Thoroughly disappointed
I would rate the 1st 2 seasons an enthusiastic 10, but I'm VERY disappointed w/ season 3. 1st, several story lines involving primary characters were left unresolved. 2nd, nearly all the cast is replaced w/ total strangers & very little explanation. 3rd, there was very little profanity in the 1st 2 seasons, & what little there was was not in English (which makes it a bit more tolerable). The 3rd season is guilty of frequent use of "f---" which I find inexcusable. 4th, they eliminated Bill Fichtner from the series. He is one of my favorite actors & the primary reason I chose to watch this series. With him gone & the plethora of profanity, I doubt that I'll bother watching the remainder of season 3. The "10" I gave the 1st 2 seasons is now a 1 for season 3.
Grimm: The End (2017)
Very well done, but I hate to see it end
I have been addicted to this series from the beginning & I'm SO disappointed to see it go. I understand why they ended on the 13th episode, but I wish it had continued until the end of the usual season for a series. I'm left to wonder if there's going to be a sequel involving the next gen (Diana, Kelly & the triplets) w/ the cast members from this series included. Who knows?? I most certainly hope so! In the final analysis, huge kudos to one & all for a wonderful show that should have continued for many years, in my humble opinion.
