Percy Jackson and the Olympians (2023)
Annabeth confused me!
Okay I wanted to love this! I love Greek mythology and I really liked the first six episodes. The last two episodes really fell flat unfortunately. Something was missing. I have not read the books so I have no idea about the first book in the series. The protagonist did well and all the gods/goddesses along the way were interesting to guess. The only thing that really confused me was Annabeth! The actress delivered her lines expressionless. There were some rushed scenes like the one in the woods where people get caught due to their regrets. Could have delved more in that and how come Annabeth escaped that?! So yes its a straight 7 to 4 stars for me.
28 Weeks Later (2007)
Woah talk about really bad film with WTH stupid choices.
This movie enraged me! I will not bite my words with this one as it was a stupid premise. Some really idiotic and irrational ( I know movies like these are not supposed to be taken seriously) but c'mon! One of the characters KISSES another character who was just recently rescued but was infected. Even though it was established that the virus spreads via blood and saliva from the infected. WHAT EVEN! And there were not any guards?! The character just prances around with a card in a high medical faculty. I will not go into any more stupidity shown in the movie as other reviews have fully covered them.
PS: The end was terrible! I wish there negative ratings as well. Skip this please.
Intruders (2011)
A horror story on generational trauma
This Spanish/British horror story started with a strong premise. A Spanish boy Juan who lives with his mother, writing a story about a certain hollow face who wants to snatch away his face trying to 'belong'. Simultaneously in London, a 12 year old Mia, follows her cat along a tree and discovers a box with an old scribbled story of horror face himself. Who wrote that story and how it got there, you will have to see for yourself.
The underlying theme of the story is the passing of generational trauma and suppressing of traumatic childhood memories. Despite the strong layout, the acting of the main protagonist fell flat and I was really annoyed Juan's mother for some reason.
We Have a Ghost (2023)
Woah, I cried hard!
I am a fan of comedy horror movies and this one just hit the spot! What started as an interesting premise turned into an emotional upheaval of events. I was really sucked into the world of Ernest and his past. I really loved how they built upon the love of a father and a daughter and the importance of connecting with your parents. The end was very emotionally intense for me, couldn't hold back the water works and David Harbour's expressions were top notch. Kudos to Jahil Di'Allo for pulling off such a great story. All in all it is a recommended family movie with some comedic moments as well
PS: It's a tad bit long though.
Anyone But You (2023)
No chemistry whatsoever!
Okay so the trailer looked promising and I was really looking forward to a nice time watching a 'romcom" movie but unfortunately it fell really flat! The basic plot is around a boy and a girl meeting magically on a rushed time and bam! Magically hit it off and then the girl leaves after a night of muse which eventually leading to a train of events which you guessed it? Them running into each other again on her sister's wedding. There was no chemistry between the leads and the dialogues felt flat and forced. I literally had to skip the last 20 minutes and just be done with the disaster. Even the "jokes" felt lazy and stupid. Overall, do not be fooled by the pretty faces in the cast, watch some other authentic rom com movie from the past.
School Spirits (2023)
I want to forget it literally!
I wanted to like this season but unfortunately it was so dull, slow and boring. I don't know why I continued watching these series. I could not sympathize with the main character or her friends. She really seeing uninterested despite the fact that everyone called her "loving and caring". Sadly enough the last episode was left hanging and most of the story was left unexplained. It would have beenmuch better if they would have built up the story at least 2 to 3 episodes before the final episode so that it could be somewhat more interesting. The whole premise around a school purgatory was interesting but I don't think itpulled through with this story.
Something Wicked (2014)
Do not waste your time, I repeat do not waste your time!!
My experience while watching this movie was awful and confusing as well. The writer couldn't decide which genre this circus was belonging to.
Before Sunset (2004)
My poor little heart 💔
I rarely ever enjoy intense movies. I am more of a chick flick kinda person. But this movie just tore my heart. I have watched Before Sunrise and I was surprised by the fact I was hooked from the beginning 🙈 This one specifically engulfed me whole and I didn't know how time flew by. An intense wholesome movie on true love.
A Dog's Journey (2019)
I want a Dog Boss now!!!😁
Amazing movie with emotional storyline. I watched the first part "A Dog's Purpose" and fell in love with it ❤ The movie has many laugh out loud and heart breaking parts ❤ Totally worth your time.
The Dead Don't Die (2019)
Total boredom.....
Unfortunately this movie is a big snoozefest! Not recommended at all sadly!
Tell Me a Story (2018)
Loved it! Well woven story lines with children fairy tales.
This is not your ordinary childish fairy tale based series. It's very realistic and has a gothic vibe as well. I was hooked from the first episode but it took me a while to solve the puzzle surrounding the stories. Absolutely loved little clues spread throughout the series. The cast was excellent and acting was superb, very impactful. This season should be given a chance even if you don't like series based on fairy tales.
A Dog's Way Home (2019)
Loved this heartwarming movie!
Oh my! I cried like a mess because it was that good! I don't own any pets but I wish to have one someday. After watching this movie I definitely know I love dogs 💕
The plot is straight but very well thought and heart touching. So if you love animals, nature and their relationship to humans, do give it a go 😁
Slender Man (2018)
DNF! Do not waste your time please
Most of the time I can drag myself through worst of the worst boring and drag movies but I could not even on this one! I Had some expectations because of the cast but they could not save this disaster. Weak plot and not so scary Slender Man was the end of me 😂
F*&% the Prom (2017)
Awful experience!
I usually enjoy teen based movies but this one was totally horrendous! Sometimes it was downright insulting. Don't waste your precious time!
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018)
I say "Give it a chance!"
Okay I was not sure about the movie in the beginning but it really progressed and improved as the timelines unfolded. I was smiling the whole time and loved every moment of it.
Find Me (2014)
Do not waste your time!
It has nothing new and full of cliches that fall flat. Disappointment!
The Midnight Man (2016)
I wish there were negative ratings as well...
The trailer made me watch this film but oh boy I was wrong. Skip this one!
