Jurassic World Dominion (2022)

Not as bad as the critics make out

The concept and premis for the could have been improved but did a good job of uniting lead characters from the early and later franchised movies.

The Kayla Watts character was poorly represented by the actor Dewanda Wise, not a reflection on her acting ability but the casting.

The many references to earlier movies and the evolution of Henry Wu was enjoyable.

Not perfect but a satisfactory end to the franchise.

If I had to rate the franchise in order of personal appreciation I would place it at no. 4.

Beneath (I) (2013)

So bad it's not even good.

This is on Netflix, and if the future of the streaming service relies on this type of fodder then it's bad news for the consumer. Awful in every aspect. 1 star for the location team.

The Old Man & the Gun (2018)

Likeable characters, an easy watch, a good movie.

I enjoy Redford as an actor, but this movie passed me by , not sure why.

A biopic of career criminal Forest Tucker centred around his charismatic approach to bank robbery.

Many great actors support the story telling and the 1980s era is captured by the cinematography and direction.

Definitely worth watching for fans of true crime.

Antebellum (2020)

Great story, but the movie could have been better

I enjoyed the story being told and the concept.

What was lacking for me was a convincing performance from the lead actor, her supporting cast were great The twist and turns in the story were also lacking in depth and could have been crafted better. An extra 20 mins of screen time could have delivered this, with characters reflecting on their own situation.

The movie was not as good as say Hostel, or the recent 'The Hunt', but worth a watch.

The Curse of Civil War Gold (2018– )

Watchable TV but you may mistake this for a spoof.

The key 'Treasure Hunters' clearly have passion in plenty. But are also So Dumb! Every if, could be or maybe is translated into a definitely. In short I liked the show for all the wrong reasons. You do get to see some off the grid parts of the US, the camera work is good and the UK narrator was also great.

The Happytime Murders (2018)

Give this movie a chance

This movie is a gross out stupid comedy. Rude and crude. If that's not your thing then don't bother. If is is then you won't be short of laughs. I enjoyed it. It wasn't perfect. Sometimes losing its way. But I will definitely watch further Henson Productions of this genre.
