Testosterone (2003)
Horrible, mind-numbing, and offensive to Argentinean people.
This movie is about an American guy who goes to Buenos Aires looking for his lover who disappeared one day. That sounds like a very interesting plot, right? Well, the movie sucks. I'm trying to write a decent review but my mind is so numbed after this movie I'm afraid I became a retarded. That said, let's go with the rest. All the characters are terribly annoying, starting with Dean (the arrogant junkie psycho) to all the "Argentinean" characters. I mean, I'm Argentinean, I know Argentina. And it's nothing like they put it on this movie. All the time I was thinking "what a horrible place to live, with all those horrible people". I don't know who wrote this plot, but he certainly knows nothing about us. I feel disgusted by the Argentinean pictured in this movie. But then, I shouldn't be surprised, American movies never portrait South American countries like they really are. I should be glad they didn't portrait Argentina as a land of gauchos or indians in the middle of some jungle, and showed a couple of good looking guys and chicks and some cameos of the beautiful Buenos Aires.
Child's Play 3 (1991)
The best of the series
It is very rare when a sequel is better than the first movie. But it's ever more rare when the third movie is better than the first and the second. This is the case. This is by far the best movie from all the Chucky series. Andy is no longer a child, he's grown up and he's in the military school now. That's enough to make this movie more serious than the previous two.And that's the feeling that you get. Seriousness. Andy not only has to deal with Chucky but also with the army guys in a very unkind way. There's a feeling of pressure and anguish throughout the whole movie and there are no funny moments. Well...maybe a couple, but they don't spoil mature aspects of the movie. The lines are brilliant, the direction perfect. This is by far the best of the whole Chucky series.
Scare Tactics (2003)
This is so wrong
OK, I love Shannen and everything. But this show is just so wrong. Some of the victims get so scared that they cry and are traumatized for a long time. Some of them have important psychological problems after the "joke", and you don't have to be a psychiatrist to see that. Non of them are scared voluntarily. I used to like this show cos it's very entertaining, but then I started to feel more and more disturbed and guilty for those poor people, I couldn't watch it anymore. It felt simply WRONG. The jokes are very well done, but some of them are just too much. Don't be fooled. Something entertaining is not always good. And sometimes funny it's not that fun.
