Our long time movie friend Vincent Kukua passed away. He was a movie super fan and has been with 31 Days of Horror practically since the beginning. His presence will be truly missed by us and everyone who had the opportunity to share space with him. This list was actually created by Vincent and stored on his Letterboxd. We have also included his featured favorites.
Remember to be excellent to each other and let’s all give a good thought for Vincent to party on and on and on.

Did you know that session 9 was filmed in the Danvers asylum during its demolition? Well that architectural tidbit will walk you right into the spirit of the Tobe Hooper classic, poltergeist. After that explore the supernatural that is within our own hearts when we wonder what’s in the dark. Enjoy a double feature of the Bababook and the people under the stairs.
I’m glad you got a few laughs and with that last West Craven horror/comedy because this next assault on your good sense as well leave you beside yourself. Hypertension and toad road can be enjoyed as a double feature into healthy interpersonal relationships of college kids can go terribly wrong.

I know you were excited to get to the vampires. Everyone loves vampires. Let Neil Jordan show the true nature of vampires in these intimate portrait: Interview With a Vampire and by Byzantium.
And affliction can take a number of different manifestations. Spring will make us question our health while easing into Werewolves.
Werewolves are… Scary? Sexy? Funny? Alcoholics? Decide for yourself after snuggling up with the furry friends in Late Phases and Wolfcop.
Would Wolfcop approve of these hooligans in Street Trash?
The horror comedy, and punk rock, continues in the Return of the Living Dead.
These 80s extraterrestrials may look laughable, but they mean business. Enjoy Xtro and Tobe Hooper’s Invader’s from Mars With some popcorn and optional anal probe. Grow your invasion with The Thing, an 80’s alien that doesn’t quite understand personal space.
Halloween is tomorrow! During your stumbling through your last minute preparations enjoy the mystery/thriller Cube and contemplate whether Vincenzo Natalie is just a disgruntled IKEA designer.
For Halloween let us bid farewell to the master of slasher, Wes Craven in the triple feature. He got into our dreams and set up camp in our psyche with A Nightmare on Elm Street, but he didn’t stop there. And his return to the franchise, not as a director but as a writer, withA Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, Wes Craven made what is often referred to as the perfect slasher film. In a New Nightmare, we actually get to see the man as he stars in this early metA horror. The film set the stage for scream, pioneering the way from movies like Cabin in the Woods and Dale and Tucker VS Evil.
Have you had enough of Freddy, or maybe you just want more! Skip the triple feature and enjoy the four hour documentary Never Sleep Again:The Elm Street Legacy.

Until next year.
